I love @topapate's work. But let's dig into this. The Mega Drive FPGA core he's talking about is not a perfect replication of hardware. If it was, there wouldn't be a list of broken games with erratic behavior. FPGA's are great, but it's not magic, and it's not always "better"..

The Megadrive core of #MiSTerFPGA is a good example of not being an emulator. It synthesizes the netlist of all the chips used in the system. It is by definition the opposite of an emulator.

It is emulation. Despite what any influencer with zero engineering experience or background wants people to believe, FPGA is by the very definition emulation. Sub-tweeting because I don't respect low effort engagement grifting. Enjoy games however you want to enjoy them, but don't try to change definitions.

@TakiUdon_ @bradmills @chrisbradshawk I just did myself with a normal reader and some cards. I really enjoy choosing a game from a card bin and then starting it just tapping it on the reader. Now I have to find a good way to print on the card, quality wise.
