You morons started an offensive conflict with Iran, with no coherent plan for the strait of Hormuz, you’ve killed the one man you could have negotiated with and cemented a regime for another generation. You’ve raised oil prices globally, stated a global recession and quickly found out you aren’t capable of defeating Iran or even opening the strait. You then call on your NATO ‘allies’ that your president has belittled and slapped with Tarrifs for the last year who all politely decline for the above reasons. It’s almost like the USA learns nothing from previous conflicts. Went to Korea to prevent communism, sacrificed half the population to an even worse regime. Went to Vietnam to again prevent communism, ended up with the communists controlling the entire country that was previously split. Went to Afghanistan to rid them of the Taliban, within one week of leaving the Taliban had control again. Destabilised the Middle East with conflicts in Iraq, Syria and Libya causing power vacuums that gave birth to ISIS. For a country with the world’s ‘best’ military you do tend to fail your objectives a lot! Take your troops out of our countries, you’re going to need them to fight another forever war, that will undoubtedly end exactly where it started.

Close down all US bases in Europe. Leave NATO. France, Spain and UK are no longer our allies.

For a two-month war, the Iranian regime lost a decade of industrial capacity. And very likely the “Islamic Republic” itself. If the regime somehow stays in power, the economy of Iran will be in a Great Depression for years. All because of religious fanaticism and delusion.

Like I've said before, there is a worst case scenario that I worry may happen: • The islamic regime survives • America occupies the islands in the Strait of Hormuz • The Iranian people suffers both from the regime as well as losing both oil and territory This situation would be by far the worst thing that can take place, which is why it's so important that a true regime change comes from this war.

My read on this is Trump is done with this war. He never intended for there to be boots on the ground. So the choice is now simple for Iran — open the strait and agree to no nuclear weapons or the US will destroy all their oil/energy and just leave, which will be so economically devastating for Iran it will probably be the end of the Islamic regime anyway.

Iran doesn’t have a navy. Iran doesn’t have oil. Iran doesn’t have air defenses. Iran doesn’t have an Air Force. Iran won’t have electricity. Iran won’t have water. Iran won’t be able to produce steel, missiles, drones, oil refining and uranium enrichment. Iran won’t have the ability to conduct intelligence. Iran doesn’t have wide spread internet connections. Iran will be forced to give up at some point.

Khomenei established a regime even more brutal than Shah's, mercilessly crushed all other political forces in Iran, even the communists that helped him overthrow the Shah and exploited Iran's resources to sow chaos in the region.

Iran would be a better ally for the USA than Israel. Iran produces oil, technology, and food. Israel produces nothing.

The idea that war is never justified is so unbelievably stupid. I hate war. I wish we didn't have to fight wars. But we do, because the world is not all sunshine and roses. There are bad people out there who want to kill us, and killing them first is not only justified, but virtuous. We are quite literally saving the world from nuclear catastrophe while some people sit and whine about it. Opposing the war in Iran doesn't make you a good person, it makes you at the very best, incredibly naive.
