@juuceboxx @Aviation_Intel Missile launch — yes. I'm not arguing about detecting missile launches. I argued that you can't detect the system sensor which guides the missile — that's the problem. And given the missile fired from short range, most probably its non-escape zone, chances to evade are not high

Buying F-15EX and not springing for the missile approach warning system is absolutely the dumbest thing. $100M fighter, but let's save a few bucks on a key defensive advantage. You are not always going to get a radar spike from a threat, even at altitude.

It means systems like that might detect a missile launch/missile in floght, but given a SHORAD missiles nature they're most often being launched within NEZ so it won't help you in most such cases.
