Sigh. Republicans always coming to the rescue of Democrats. He's giving Abigail Spanberger one last chance to save face. Democrats could vote down the Lucasmander and say they did it to prevent Florida from redistricting (what I call "fairdistricting"). Abigail could say she wanted this to happen specifically because she didn't DeSantis to respond. She'll say Louise Lucasmanderer made her do it. But she's the governor now. Republicans constantly giving Democrats second chances. Sigh.

@IanJaeger29 The US doesn't belong in NATO - but how about we restore peace and integrity to Ukraine, before we cut Europe lose. Do you really believe that Europe can handle Ukraine on its own?

The Trump administration has eased financial sanctions on Venezuela to help stabilize its struggling economy and address protests over low wages. The change allows major state banks, including the Banco Central de Venezuela, to use U.S. dollars, access oil revenues, and reconnect with the global financial system. Source: Axios

A Chinese Vessel passed the Strait of Hormuz today. This specific ship is sanctioned by the U.S. government. Trump’s navy didn’t even try to stop it. It’s clear who controls the Strait 🇮🇷

Most couples are already functionally behaving as divorced couples. Splitting all household duties, splitting time with the children, etc. Barely any sex. Couples aren’t doing ANYTHING as if they’re actually married. It’s really not a Scooby Doo mystery why couples divorce.

Trump using the U.S. Navy to blockade the Strait of Hormuz could easily be considered an act of war by other nations impacted by the action. What right does the U.S. have to use military force to prevent China from buying oil? However, China’s right to retaliate would seem clear.

In 3rd grade I wanted to read Three Musketeers because it was worth an entire semester of “reading points” and I didn’t want to have to keep picking books off their dumb list of “approved books”. I wanted to read Redwall instead. My teacher put up a huge fuss about how I was going to waste a bunch of time “reading” then fail the comprehension quiz because a 3rd grader could never understand a book that advanced. I got 100% on the quiz so of course she raised my semester threshold of “reading points” to keep me picking books off the list.
memetic_sisyphus@memeticsisyphus

It’s true, every halfway intelligent right winger I know irl had a massive conflict with at least one elementary teacher over things like: reading ahead, reading too difficult books, not showing enough work, etc etc. it’s the first time we experience the uncaring tyranny of state bureaucracy and it sucks.

@MasonFlakeAlpha @prestonstew_ hes building a layered island defense chain right now and has cut off over 60% of Chinas fuel, where they now must compete for oil at market rate. He's doing way more to china, than China could ever dream of doing. China won't do shit.

"Trump is turning Iran’s strategy to leverage the strait completely on its head. He has also utterly embarrassed his critics, who were praising Iran’s brilliance in leveraging control of the strait to deliver Trump a strategic defeat." In a new piece, @marcthiessen walks through how the US blockade could bring about an end to the war with Iran.

@EuropeanPan Also the notion that everything needs to be done „in the interests of the economy“ is slowly getting on my nerves. Is that all? Is there nothing else to humanity than „production and consumption of goods and services“?

This seems like the general reaction from Right wing pundits, but I’d genuinely like to know their beef with the new Hungarian leadership. Yes it’s more pro-Europe and less friendly toward Russia, but it’s still quite nationalist at its core. If anything Peter Magyar seems to be more hardline on immigration than Orban, especially on things like foreign workers. He is by no means what I would call Left wing. Of course there could always be some Trojan horse tactics, I think a lot of the reaction is a bit misinformed.
