The risk of protests, unrest and terrorism linked to the situation in the Middle East may escalate in the region and worldwide. If you're travelling overseas, it's important to stay up to date on current events in your destination and take steps to ensure your safety. 1/2

Travellers in the Middle East – don't go to the airport unless you've been directly notified by your airline or travel provider. Check your flight status on your airline’s website or app before starting your journey to the airport. Keep checking as things may change quickly.

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade has opened a crisis registration portal for Australians in Israel, Iran, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar.

Conflict in the Middle East continues to impact flights globally. Do not cancel your flights or travel plans until you get advice from your travel agent, airline or other professional. (1/4)

Australia condemns Iran's reckless attacks including against civilians and civilian infrastructure in the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Jordan, Cyprus and Israel. I'm engaging with my counterparts in the region to express Australia’s solidarity & support.

Due to military strikes and reprisal attacks, we are urging Australians not to travel to Israel, Lebanon, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain. We continue to advise Australians not to travel to Iran, Iraq, Syria and Yemen. Australians should reconsider their need to travel to Jordan.

Today marks 4 years since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine began in blatant violation of international law. Australia is steadfast in our commitment to a just and lasting peace for Ukraine. We commend the bravery and resilience of the Ukrainian people.

Australia again calls on Russia to end its immoral invasion immediately and uphold its international legal obligations, including concerning the protection of civilians and treatment of prisoners of war. Australia will continue to push for a just and lasting peace for Ukraine.

Russia began its illegal and unprovoked full-scale invasion of Ukraine four years ago. Today, Australia announced our largest sanctions package since the invasion began.
