Those that value security over freedom get neither.

If people are too stupid to stand trial, maybe they are too stupid to stand on a train. Low IQ and dangerous should not be allowed on the streets. Prosecute him anyway. And impose the maximum sentence.

@votehimoutinnov @P_bogan I saw a Magistrate we used to refer to as 007 because she gave out so many bonds, soon as their was a camera crew she started to slot people with minimal criminal records for six months for minor assaults.

“Just don’t read replies on X 🤦🏻‍♂️”.
@Aussie242486989 @P_bogan Definitely. But then I’ve also seen numerous cases where legal teams have delayed a case because they knew the way the assigned judge thinks and thus how the verdict would go. It isn’t a perfect system in so many ways. You and I won’t solve it though. GTG, enjoyed the chat 🤝

Right. The camera was a a police camera. Pauline Hanson has been going on all week about who tipped off the media to film BRS's arrest. All f'n week. And it was a cop camera. And didn't bother to find out the facts. As usual. #insiders

@MichaelPascoe01 Maybe we can start charging as well because our Navy patrols vast areas of the Indian and pacific oceans and it’s a cost to the taxpayer and the Americans Navy patrols the globe to keep trade open imagine their bill.

You know the $2 million a ship toll proposal headline? That's for supertankers, = $1 a barrel i.e. not outrageous. The world lets US/Israel "decimate" Iran without penalty, it could pay a small toll towards recovery. Remember Albo rushed to back the war. (& c.f. Cuba blockade)
The Economist@TheEconomist

Iran stands to earn billions of dollars a year if it can keep charging ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz economist.com/middle-east-an…

@DrDemography Maybe there were better candidates, it’s easier to blame others than look in the mirror.

I missed out on the chance of a promotion last year. My hopes pushed further out b/c of whistleblowing etc. While some fellas get it easy, this has been my journey through academia. Ex high school drop out and cert III TAFE alum. Nepotism and cronyism has no place in academia.
Dr Liz Allen@DrDemography

Let’s talk inequality and unfair hiring/promotions in higher education. HigherEd can be elitist, especially when it comes to ‘pedigree’ of its staff, students. Rules for some and not for others is cronyism and driving inequity. I’ve experienced this. 🧶

Australia must now make most important decision of my lifetime. We must immediately withdraw from #AUKUS & our other American alliances as they give us image of irresponsible warmongers by remaining allied with #USA. Our future is as leader of South East Asia alliance.

@votehimoutinnov @P_bogan I still believe that it influences juries either way and you don’t get fair outcomes either way.

@votehimoutinnov @P_bogan It’s a prep walk completely unnecessary and it’s an Americanisation of our system. Police shouldn’t be creating human interest stories especially before a murder trial.

@parallel235 @TheRealMenToo It’s not really victimless, she has downloaded 1400 files and given some to criminals. Imagine if you’re a victim of one of those crimes would you still class it as victimless.

Vanessa O’Bryan, 32, a prosecutor for the NSW Department of Public Prosecutions has been accused of having intimate relationships with mulitiple inmates whilst they were behind bars. An explosive police document alleges she was in an intimate, sexual relationship with convicted gangland murderer Joshua Baines – who she had previously represented while she was a criminal defence lawyer – and multiple others. She has recently been bailed following months on remand since she was charged in November 2025. Can you imagine a man in this situation being given bail? dailytelegraph.com.au/truecrimeaustr…
