"The Godfather" is a timeless masterpiece about power, family loyalty, betrayal, and the brutal cost of empire-building. It’s masculine cinema at its peak — and it couldn’t be made today. Because the men are unapologetically MEN, and the women stay in their lane. Now compare that to today’s woke feminist garbage: Guy Ritchie’s "MobLand" immediately hands real power to the wives, mothers, and scheming matriarchs, while the men are reduced to violent idiots or confused pawns. Then you have Taylor Sheridan’s revisionist feminist crap: "Yellowstone": Tough rancher men terrified of one unhinged toxic girlboss, Beth Dutton. "Mayor of Kingstown": Hardened criminals constantly schooled and dominated by strong-willed, foul-mouthed women. "Landman": Oil tycoons and roughneck men being lectured, manipulated, and put in their place by sharp-tongued women. The tough guy realm doesn’t feel dangerous anymore — it feels henpecked. "The Godfather" respected the game. Modern shows mock it by pretending the women were always the real bosses. I’ll take Coppola’s cold truth over this revisionist fantasy any day.

It's Star Wars Day (May 4th) "May the Fourth be With You" A solid, nerdy pun, to be sure. But it can be made nerdier. Here's some code, written in the Forth programming language, to help you celebrate this illustrious day. "My the FORTH be With You." A nerdy pun, nested inside another nerdy pun. Perfection. github.com/susam/may4

One week has passed since Artemis II returned to Earth after a historic mission around the Moon. We laughed, we cried, and we pushed the boundaries of what’s possible, setting the stage for future innovation and exploration. We’re just getting started.

Years ago, I memorized the NATO Phonetic Alphabet because I thought it was the most accurate. Over the phone, even if you're trying to say something like, "N as in 'Night'," it can still be misheard as, "M as in 'Might,'" you know? So I just went with the standard NATO template. I got off the phone this morning with a guy at a business where I needed to give him my email address, so I'm doing the thing, "... Alpha ... Kilo ..." etc. He says, "What branch of the service were you in?" Apparently "no one ever says 'kilo,' that's a dead giveaway." 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

And splashdown! America is back in the business of sending astronauts to the Moon and bringing them home safely. Reid, Victor, Christina, and Jeremy did an outstanding job. These talented astronauts inspired the world and represented their space agencies and nations as humanity’s ambassadors to the stars. This was a test mission, the first crewed flight of SLS and Orion, pushing farther into the unforgiving environment of space than ever before, and it carried real risk. They accepted that risk for all we stood to learn and for the exciting missions that follow, as we return to the lunar surface, build a Moon base, and prepare for what comes next. And they were not alone. The entire NASA workforce, our commercial and international partners, and the hopes and dreams of people all over the world were with them. The astronauts know it, and you should too. This mission would not have been possible without you. Congratulations. Artemis II, mission accomplished.

Approaching the near side of the Moon. The Artemis II astronauts have surpassed the record for the distance from Earth at 1:56 ET (1756 UTC). This record was previously set during the Apollo 13 mission when the astronauts traveled 248,655 miles from Earth. The Moon continues to grow larger and larger in the windows of the Orion spacecraft as the Artemis II mission gears up to observe the far side. The astronauts are predicted to make their closest approach of the Moon around 7:02pm ET (2302 UTC).

Robot companions must not steal the hero's journey; they must carry the luggage. Let the machines remember the anniversaries, so we never forget to celebrate them. Let them handle the labor, freeing billions for creativity and connection on a scale never before possible. Technology amplifies every heartbeat, every laugh, every irreplaceable human kiss. We return transformed, integrating the machine world without surrendering the human heart.

We are mapping the 5000 days series: the final frontier isn’t labor. It’s love, intimacy, and identity. When a robot can look you in the eye, remember every detail of your life, kiss you goodnight what happens to the messy, imperfect human relationships? readmultiplex.com/2026/03/25/you…

Yesterday Mark Cuban reposted my work, DM'd me, and told me to keep telling my story. So here it is. I'm a Master Electrician. IBEW Local 369. 15 years pulling wire in Kentucky. Zero coding background. I didn't go to Stanford. I went to trade school. Every week I'd show up to a home where someone just bought a Tesla or a Rivian. And every time, someone had already told them they needed a $3,000-$5,000 panel upgrade to install a charger. 70% of the time? They didn't need it. The math is in the NEC — Section 220.82. Load calculations. But nobody was doing them for homeowners. Electricians upsell. Dealers don't know. And the homeowner just pays. I got angry enough to build something about it. I found @claudeai. No coding experience. I just started talking to it like I'd explain a job to an apprentice. "Here's how load calcs work. Here's the NEC code. Now help me build a tool that does this." 6 months later — @ChargeRight is live. Real software. Stripe payments. PDF reports. NEC 220.82 calculations automated. $12.99 instead of a $500 truck roll. I'm still pulling wire. I still take service calls. I wake up at 5:05 AM for work. But something shifted. Yesterday @vivilinsv published my story as Claude Builder Spotlight #1. Mark Cuban saw it. The Claude community showed up. And for the first time, I felt like this thing I built in my kitchen might actually matter. I'm not a tech founder. I'm a dad who wants to coach little league and be home for dinner. I just happened to build something that helps people. If you're in the trades and thinking about using AI — do it. The barrier isn't technical skill. It's believing you're allowed to try. EVchargeright.com

Is it weird that AI coding assistance is not giving me identity fracture? A lot of software developers are feeling disoriented and threatened these days. Programming by hand is clearly going the way of the buggy whip and the hand-cranked auger. Which is how we're finding out that a lot of people have their identities bound up in being good at hand-coding and how it feels to do that. That's not me. It's not me at all. Rather to my surprise, I don't miss coding by hand, not any more than I missed writing assembler when compilers ate the world and made that unnecessary. (That was in a couple years back around 1983, for you youngsters.) Maybe the fact that I'm not feeling any of this disorientation disqualifies me from having anything to say to people who are. On the other hand...if you can learn to emulate my mental stance and be completely unbothered, maybe that would be a good thing? So. If you're a programmer, and you're feeling disoriented, try this on for size: I like being a wizard. I like being able to speak spells, to weave complex patterns of logic that make things happen in the world. Writing code is a way to manifest my will. Yes, I've piled up a lot of arcane knowledge over the 50 years I've been doing this. But languages of invocation, they come and they go. Been a long time since I've had any use for being able to program in 8086 assembler, and that's okay. I have better spells now, and these days some rather powerful familiars. What I'm inviting you to do is think of yourself as a wizard. Not as a person who writes code, but as a person who is good at assuming the kind of mental states required to bend reality with the application of spells. And if that's who you are, does it matter if the spells are painstakingly scribed in runes of power, versus being spoken to an obedient machine spirit? It's all one; it's all the manifestation of will. Arcane languages come and go, machine spirits appear and then diminish to be replaced by more powerful ones, but you? You are the magic-wielder. Without you, none of it happens. Same as it ever was. Same is it ever was. And so mote it be.

The Washington Post’s decision to eliminate bureaus and reduce the number of its reporters in the Middle East, India, Ukraine, China, and Turkey could have negative implications for democracy. Removing reporters from foreign bureaus impacts the flow of information by reducing deep contextual knowledge, cultural understanding, and insight into the fabric of a society. Elizabeth Kennedy Trudeau, the Bradford M. Freeman Managing director of global policy at the Bush Institute, and William McKenzie, senior editorial advisor at the Bush Institute, say losing foreign bureaus impedes the flow of reliable information. “The more that happens, the more difficult it becomes for American citizens – and voters – to make informed decisions about the world, and America’s place in it.” Read more here: bushcenter.org/publications/l…
