Should Punjab Adopt a Policy like Andhra Pradesh? The Andhra Pradesh government is offering cash incentives to larger families to combat plummeting birth rates and an aging population. Under the state's new population management policy, the government will provide ₹30,000 for the birth of a third child and ₹40,000 for a fourth. Punjab BJP leader Jagmohan Singh Raju wrote to Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann to consider the same policy to maintain the demographic population. He highlighted the Sikh population declining in Punjab giving an instance of Census 2011, & in future the trend continues. Earlier, Sri Akal Takht Sahib Jathedar Gaini Kuldeep Singh Gargajj has also appealed to Sikh families to have 4-5 kids for a higher population in Punjab.
