@TheLastNeocon @alt_ccc This isn't hard. We can say it was overall positive for others reasons and I totally agree but those mainly pushing it really wanted transparency to get rid of bad cops. Which even so is totally fair on its face.

@TheLastNeocon @alt_ccc The behavior of many of those same activitists client groups were also filmed which has shown pretty egregious behavior in interactions gone wrong. When cops are largely proven reasonable and the groups you're trying to protect seem the like aggressors that is an own.

@xav_moss @alt_ccc @TheLastNeocon That could be possible. I surely hope it made those on the otherside of the interactions also less violent and irrational. If it did the treatment of police has always been significantly more brutal than I ever thought.

@AverageCliff @alt_ccc @TheLastNeocon To catch cops but also to deter them. Hard to prove but I would guess a lot of cops are much less brutal if they're being filmed. This is a huge success even if no cops get punished!

@alt_ccc @TheLastNeocon Not supposedly, the biggest backers of it 100% thought it would expose way more cops than it actually has (it has some). The actual thing it has highlighted is how irrational certain groups of people act towards cops. Groups the activist try to protect.

I’m sorry but despite what the polling says I just refuse to believe James TalaFreako is the Democrat that is going to flip Texas.

Democrats need 57 swing seats, but some are already Democratic held seats that must be protected. So the 57 seats aren't all pickups. Democrats must protect the their share of the 77 swing seats, including incumbents on Republican leaning terrain, and then win enough Republican held swing districts to assemble 57 total. So 57 is the required number of holds plus pickups among the swing seats.

2026 Redistricting made the House map more Republican and less elastic per @Redistrict New PVI scores show Democrats now need to win 57 of 77 (74%) competitive to take the majority.

AXIOS: Elon Musk is launching a huge midterms push for the GOP. He’s reviving America PAC — the super PAC that spent over $260 million to help Trump win in 2024 — focusing on door-knocking, digital ads, and direct mail to boost conservative turnout. GOP super PACs and committees have a $300 million-plus advantage over their Democratic counterparts — and that doesn't include the $400 million sitting in Trump's MAGA Inc. super PAC. axios.com/2026/07/29/mus…

What national environment does each party need to win control of Congress? Republicans are favored to hold both chambers at D+3.8 or redder, while Democrats are favored to flip both at D+7.5 or bluer.
