Canadians bragging about the idea of the RCN having a larger surface combatant fleet than the RN gotta be living the dream rn.

@mhmck Canada would not receive transfer payments, it would be a top 5 economy and a net-contributor.
There is no real substantial benefit to Canada; especially when you consider the loss of CAD, adherence to EU law and Supreme Court. Canadas strength is in our independence.
English

@mhmck Seems like a terrible idea. How does joining the EU benefit Canada?
English

@mhmck We would also lose significant sovereignty, our currency, add an additional level of bureaucracy, and instantly be one of the largest monetary contributors to the EU.
Honestly, I see no benefit in this. We have CETA - it’s good enough.
English

@AverageHuman420 Canadians would enjoy the right to live, work, travel and study in any country of the EU, as we currently do in every province and territory of Canada.

@HoCStaffer Honestly faining ignorance is a time honoured McGuinty tradition. Do you remember Dalton McGuinty and the gas plant? Then claiming not to know about deleted emails and documents about said gas plant?
Good times!

@ThrillaRilla369 Go hungry until I was ready to eat. I only remember doing that a few times. My folks didnt bluff.

@MarkJCarney @CanadianForces This is a good thing, NS is an ideal location to launch satillites into orbit that are meant to take a highly elliptical orbit.
Having this launch pad should attract other northern countries who have a need to launch arctic orbits.
English

So much of Canada’s military capability, and nearly 20% of our economy, relies on satellites.
We’re making an historic investment toward a Canadian-owned launch pad to send satellites into orbit — strengthening the @CanadianForces, our sovereignty, and our economic security.

@CanadianCoffey Did you ask the same question last year when Freeland went on Real Time?
If you didn’t then, why are you now?

Did we pay for your trip to America as well?
It’s not enough that we pay for your housing, your childcare, your chef, your gardener and your chauffeur.

Are you ready for this?

@LadyAnnaD @CTVNews Freeland went on Real Time, Carney went on the Daily Show to announce his intent to run as party leader both in 2025.
Why is it outrageous when a conservative does it, but not when liberals do it?

@astraiaintel No. say it with me: OUR GOVERNMENT DOES NOT NEED A GOVERNMENT.
English

@DartPip @MarcNixon24 No.. that’s not what was decided. The SC did not rule that MAiD MUST be offered. The SC ruled to strike down previous criminal prohibition on assisted dying and clearly outlined adults must be competent with certain criteria and doctors cannot be compelled to participate in MAiD.
English

@MarcNixon24 Why do none of you people seem to know the Supreme Court of Canada ruled that MAID had to be offered, not politicians. One province can’t just decide to put their own restrictions on it that contradict that ruling.
English

@6ixbuzztv Yea tips are egregious, especially when restaurant workers make 17.20/h minimum (at least in Ontario).

Why the fuck are we calling them ”suicide drones”??
They are just guided bombs. There is no “suicide” involved. Normal bombs don’t return home after their shift is done.

@Reil76 Yeah but I didn’t make the claim of 514k job vacancies then ask to see the spin on that claim.
If there are 514k job vancaies I’d really be interested to know the details.
English

🚨 🚨
Ok folks, let’s see the spin on this.
Every day we hear the same thing. “There are no jobs in Canada.” “Our kids can’t get jobs.” “The economy is collapsing.”
But here’s something you don’t hear as often.
There are currently over 514,000 job vacancies across Canada. That means more than half a million positions employers are actively trying to fill.
So how can both things be true at the same time?
If there are supposedly “no jobs,” why are there over half a million open positions? Are people unwilling to work certain jobs? Are wages too low? Are skills not matching the jobs available?
Maybe the real conversation shouldn’t just be “there are no jobs.” Maybe it should be why so many jobs are sitting empty while people say they can’t find work.

@KeruboSk Night shower is better cause who wants to roll around and lay in a full days worth of filth?
