Air India has now said in a statement it has grounded VT-ANX following the report that its pilots experienced an issue with the engine fuel control switches. The airline confirmed that the matter has been formally communicated to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). Further technical checks are being carried out in coordination with the aircraft’s manufacturer, Boeing. x.com/aviationbrk/st…

Crashes are not mere “accidents” — they are the inevitable result of years of systemic neglect and policy violations. Without immediate systemic improvements, the next disaster will not wait for five years, but is just around the corner writes @AwakenIndia for @the_hindu

FIP…please spend the money of the pilots into something productive. For eg. sue @DGCAIndia @MoCA_GoI for its policies on FDTL, NOC…sue airlines on bonds, leave policies, sick leaves, medicals etc, sue AAIB for its unprofessional preliminary report.

FIP, an otherwise glorified insurance agent, has done nothing for pilots. Even the issue of NOC has not been properly challenged and pressed. They didn’t do anything on FDTL. Now they want to sue @Mohan_Rngnathan. Great. Hope FIP doesn’t end up with eggs on its face.

I am not speculating based on the prelim report. No one should think they can go scot free by blaming the pilots who cannot defend themselves. The first is an e-mail dated 1 Aug 2019 and the other is affidavit dated 11 April 2018 filed in Delhi High Court. @MoCA_GoI @DGCAIndia
