I couldn't ignore the cries of a little puppy calling for help. 🐾❤️ I rushed to find this poor thing, alone and hungry, searching for his mother. I took him to the shelter and gave him milk, but my heart ached for the love he will never know.🥹🐾🫂💕 In the midst of darkness, every life has value. Cutting into her neck, this female zebra had worn this wire snare for 5 weeks, until today, when our SWT/KWS Meru Vet Unit freed her from her suffering.
First sighted in January, difficult terrain prevented team’s treating her, and despite tough conditions once more, when she was spotted again today, nothing was going to stop our team helping the zebra. The snare had caused significant soft tissue trauma, with a deep muscular injury. Flushed and cleaned, the wound was treated with antiseptic and then packed with green clay to aid healing. With pain killers and antibiotics administered, she was back on her feet. Critically, her prognosis for recovery is good.

So much happening here... Pumpkin is practically in a trance from being scratched with an old turkey feather. So much that she doesn't even mind Miles' photo-bomb and yelling (likely due to him not having all the attention). Jareth the rooster is plotting against Ryan in the background, while Quincy is thwarting his plans and coming to Ryan's aid. And sweet Pumpkin just wants her scratches to continue, no matter the chaos around her! We strongly recommend watching to the end.

Today we said goodbye to our sweet Donut..
She fought so hard and showed us all the true meaning of resilience and strength. She came back from a dark place after her accident, and with the love and dedication of our incredible team, she was able to walk again ❤️
Her tail never stopped wagging and she shared her light with all of us. She chose joy even in the toughest times, and we can all learn from Donut💪🏼
Our amazing team, who spent so many hours and days helping Donut, gave her a beautiful send off at the land this morning💐
In her honour, we’re asking everyone to enjoy a donut today – one just as sweet as she was 🐾🍩
