@SantoroSystems The question is ... what are they doing behind the scenes... for one thing they are getting robotaxi to mass production and they want FSD, robotaxi, logistics, approvals, app, etc... to all be ready before a launch. Simple really.

@B08Dunne I am watching it I'm asking what improvements have you noticed in the last 4 months considering there's no FSD updates....

To put it bluntly, the robotaxi fleet size is bad enough at this point that literally everyone should be asking Elon what the hell is going on, there might be a perfectly reasonable explanation but we should know what that is instead of guessing what it is.
The active fleet size is the same size that it was on November 2nd

Not sure how Nvidia becoming a big player in self-driving cars isn't a mortal threat to the Tesla valuation case.
Tesla's valuation only makes a trace of sense if they're the only one who solves self-driving (at least any time soon) and they get to have the market to themselves.

@SantoroSystems If you're not watching the FSD improvements there are lots of videos out there.... It's all about AI, autonomy and Optimus and I have a 10 year horizon so as mentioned I'm chilling and enjoying life.... yes it would be great to know every thought and metric but we don't.

@SantoroSystems As mentioned, I have confidence is what they are doing and I'm chilling ... so I think strategically ... I don't count cars I just love the progress FSD is making.

To all who still don’t know: All what Nvidia provides is a development environment
therefore every company that want to succeed with L4 autonomous vehicle needs to work through almost all the challenges Tesla worked through including having the data to train NN.
Tesla will dominate the market when others are still struggling.

@B08Dunne Well Elon and Tesla have been wrong every single time they've ever mentioned a single timeline unless it was 100% in their control.
And I've been advocating for camera washers for years now so at least in the last few months when it comes to the robotaxi,

@wholemars Elon's view is that the sheer quantity of chips they will need in future cannot be supplied by the existing players in time...also hedge against global disruption. Smart move.

Cash flow unit economics for Cybercab can be expressed in one simple equation.
Monthly Cash Flow = (Price per mile × Miles per trip × Trips per hour × Hours per day × 30) − Monthly operating cost
Assume:
$1.50 per mile
3 miles per trip
4 trips per hour
8 hours of operation per day
Average trip revenue = $4.50
So monthly revenue becomes:
Revenue = 4.50 × 4 × 8 × 30 = $4,320
Operating costs:
$200 lease
$100 insurance
$100 cleaning/maintenance
Total cost = $400/month
Monthly cash flow per Cybercab:
$4,320 − $400 = $3,920
And this assumes only 4 trips per hour and 8 hours of operation per day, leaving plenty of room for higher utilization as the network matures.

@FutureAZA @greggertruck I'm sure Tesla would use better batteries if they had superior performance without any drawbacks. Lots of companies are working on battery tech and it's a question of deciding which horse to ride and when to switch.
