@jtrebach This was literally a question on my organic chemistry final in college. Had to calculate how much ethanol to neutralize the methanol.

if someone drinks a bunch of toxic alcohol (methanol or ethylene glycol) and you do not have fomepizole or dialysis, you could always give oral ethanol (40 proof vodka works fine) to prevent alcohol dehydrogenase from breaking down the toxic alcohol into its dangerous metabolites
