UPDATE: Walnut Avenue and Ash Street One man has been arrested and is currently in police custody. The shelter‑in‑place advisory for the immediate area has now been lifted. There are no ongoing public safety concerns in the Walnut Ave area. A heavy police presence remains on scene as officers collapse operations. Parents may now safely enter the area to pick up their children from the nearby daycare. We appreciate the cooperation and patience of residents in the area during this call.

A significant police presence is currently in the area of Walnut Avenue in Abbotsford responding to a weapons-related call. Residents on Walnut Avenue between Ash Street and Pratt Crescent, as well as those on Woodbine Street and Woodland Street, are asked to shelter in place at this time. The situation is contained to a single residence, and there are no reported injuries. This is an active and evolving incident. Further updates will be provided as they become available.

This week's unusually warm weather set some new daily high temperatures in #BC. It was 21.8 degrees in #Kamloops breaking a record set in 1910 of 21.1. Other communities recording new highs included Prince George, Quesnel, Williams Lake, Salmon Arm, Summerland and Osoyoos.

Orange Warning for Rainfall issued for Coquitlam and Metro Vancouver NE. Never seen this one issued for my area yet. This is code for "Severe weather is likely to cause significant widespread disruption, or danger". Major risk of landslides here. If you live close to the mountains on hills, have an emergency go bag ready. We are now at over 250mm of rain falling in 3.5 days. This is the same amount as the October 18-20, 2024 AR Storm for Coquitlam. This is not to be taken lightly. I will be chasing later today. An additional 100+mm more of rain is still possible between now and Friday night. We will well exceed a foot of rain in this storm. #bcstorm #shareyourweather
