Students often get discouraged when they receive copious feedback on their writing. But show them this: Pulitzer Prize winning author Robert Caro edits himself, harshly. There is no great writing. Only great re-writing.

Some of the best writing I’ve read in ions is Tara Westover’s memoir, Educated. Anyone who describes her life experiences w/ such eloquence & command, while also incorporating the line “I was broker than the Ten Commandments,” deserves my utmost respect! Well done @tarawestover
