#VPDNews: Vancouver Police have arrested a man in his 20s for allegedly assaulting and urinating on a woman who was walking downtown early this morning. Just after 6 a.m. on September 5, the 31-year-old victim was walking near West Pender and Beatty Street when she encountered a naked man on top of a parked car. The suspect began yelling, ran toward the victim, knocked her to the ground, and urinated on her. Bystanders intervened, called 9-1-1, and restrained the suspect until VPD officers arrived. The suspect was arrested for the assault, and taken to hospital under the Mental Health Act. He remains in secure custody at the hospital. Vancouver Police will forward a report to Crown counsel for consideration of criminal charges.
