@OfficialChipC Getting the foul that causes the out of bounds or violation to occur, is a key takeaway here for every official.

@mzpincali @seanhalfcourt That’s why that was a no call. That play was different. In the play, Harris goes A to B and displaces Harden while going through Harden’s space.

@seanhalfcourt From prior game's 2 minute report: “Harris (DET) jumps to contest Harden’s (CLE) jump shot attempt, but would otherwise avoid making contact if not for Harden extending forward.”

These two clips are from the same game. The first clip shows a normal James Harden three point shot. The second clip shows the foul he drew on Tobias Harris. See if you can notice any difference on what Harden does with his feet.
Sean Murphy@seanhalfcourt

The landing zone rule needs major reform. I understand injury prevention is important, and we need to prevent dirty close outs. But not enough is being done about the offensive players initiating the contact in such unnatural ways.

@seanhalfcourt First no two plays are same. They can be similar but not the same. Second, Harris jumps A to B and displaces Harden and goes through Harden’s space. This is a foul on the defender.

@bballbreakdown This was a POE a couple years ago and this is a good no call. Harden extended his legs outside his natural motion.

Fascinating, as Cavs challenge the out of bounds play with hopes they go back to find a proximate foul, which very closely resembles the previous foul call they made on Harris

@bballbreakdown Defender obtained LGP, but didn’t maintain a LGP. Defender can move to side and back and still be in a LGP. Defender here is moving towards the offensive player. Easy block call.

@cspan @RepJoeMorelle This is nothing more than an accounting mind trick. Instead of a capital expenditure, it’s an operating expense by paying more per unit over a period of time.

Private equity rolled up the bowling industry and turned what was functionally a family friendly community center into a shitty, expensive casino. They weren't shy about it either. One of their executives said they wanted to raise the price of EVERYTHING.

@HammerNation19 News flash, it’s not the coaching. Mitchell and Mobley are real good players, but they are not great players. Both continue to disappoint as the lights get brighter. Harden is who we thought he was.

@SRuhle Spirit failed on its own and was set up to fail. The model of nickel and dimming your customers and providing a horrible travel experience isn’t a recipe for success. Spirit failed because of poor leadership that didn’t value customers or people.

Elizabeth Warren was key in blocking the JetBlue/Spirit merger to "protect consumers"… The result? Spirit liquidates after 34 years. 16,000 employees just lost their jobs and the bigger airlines can now raise prices even more. Always wrong, never in doubt.
Elizabeth Warren@SenWarren

I've warned for months that a @JetBlue-@SpiritAirlines merger would have led to fewer flights and higher fares. @JusticeATR and @USDOT were right to stand up for consumers and fight against runaway airline consolidation. This is a Biden win for flyers! apnews.com/article/jetblu…

This is what $22 gets you at Panera Bread The sandwich looks worse than cafeteria food, the bread looks dry, the salad is filled maybe half way Since being bought by a private equity firm, Panera has seen a 60-70% increase in price on menu items The private equity firm JAB implemented cost-cutting measures like portion reductions, ingredient changes, staffing adjustments and of course, raising prices

@davemeltzerWON It’s kind an “in kind donation”, for those keeping track at home. Which must be recorded at market value by a charity. In this example tickets would be recorded as revenue and then recorded as an expense by Make A Wish.

You can apologize: It is generally legal for a charity to accept complimentary (comp) tickets, provided they are used for the charity's mission (e.g., taking clients to a game) or used for fundraising, such as a silent auction. However, the charity must comply with IRS quid pro quo rules if the tickets are part of a sponsorship package.
Scott Packard@ScottiePackard

@davemeltzerWON I’ve come to believe that Meltzer posts stupid stuff like this for the engagement. There’s no way he’s that incompetent, right??

@JaredToronto @davemeltzerWON For physical items like tickets, WWE would donate the tickets, Make-A-Wish records that as contribution and then records the donation as services expensed. Most expenses are accounted for in SG&A balance sheet.

Better tell WWE, because as a general rule those are comped. It was all covered in the issue.
DaveXperience@MTorfan01

@davemeltzerWON Google AI says they pay for tickets to events, like the other person said, they receive $$ via donations so one would presume they pay the costs. But I would further say they get discounts. But that's just my guess. See screen shot

@WrestlePurists @HeyHeyItsConrad @WONF4W Just like every other TV product, they have the studio “notes” that come down from the ivory tower. Funny, Ari spent most of his career as an agent probably fighting back against executives notes for his clients. Now he is the one sending them?

@ClayTravis Missing a lot here. JetBlue’s internal documents showed they planned to raise rates by 40% after merger. DOJ argued it violated the Clayton Act. Spirit failed because its customer experience is horrendous and people don’t want to fly it.

In 2024, a federal judge ruled Spirit Airlines merging with JetBlue would be anticompetitive and canceled the merger. Almost immediately Spirit filed for bankruptcy. Now it is nearly bankrupt again. Why does this federal judge still have a job when he got his ruling this wrong?

@FreightAlley Spirit failed because its business model like other budget airlines is to offer low fares to entice customers and on the actually flying experience they price gouge for everything. Sprit’s customer experience isn’t worth doing more than once. Sprit needs to fail.

@WrestlePurists @HeyHeyItsConrad Charging more for the same product isn’t real growth. Thats just revenue padding. Growth creates more value, not higher prices. WWE/TKO leadership is focused next quarter’s numbers, not long term strategy.
