@Lyndonx @SharePickers Thanks Lyndon. It will be my first foray into investing so I shall make sure I do my homework properly first.

@BIADNOW @SharePickers No advise. STRC pays 11.5%, Dividend stocks especially defensive like energy with yields ranging from 3-8% plus capital upside possible. Crypto is volatile but can X3-10 your money but it’s at risk unless you know how to minimise the risks.

Two weeks ago we had solar panels and a battery fitted. We have just completed our first full week with the system. Our electric bill for the week commencing 10th March 2026 compared to the same week last year has dropped by 71% from £31.71 to £9.05. We also have not received our DNO cert yet which would allow us to sell back into the grid. On sunny days our battery has been full by 11:30am meaning we don’t yet benefit from the excess free energy being produced. We are now going to buy an electric car and fill it with free energy. If only all of the UK could do this, it would go along way to reducing the countries high energy costs. @octopusenergy @g__j

@SharePickers Still rely on the grid. Home solar is not truly “off grid” if that’s the aim. Personally for £15k I would rather invest it and get 10% a year + capital growth (easier now than ever) rather than save £30 a week. But that’s me :))

@prestonjbyrne @Ofcom are run by fucking morons with authoritarian tendencies. Like most establishments in the UK it seems to run for the benefit of the government now the citizens and is infested with low life scum. Hopefully there will be a rebalancing soon enough.

@Keir_Starmer Surely reducing taxes would be a quicker, guaranteed way of reducing the cost of living. But you won’t do that will you Keir. That doesn’t suit your handlers goals does it, you pathetic sack of flesh.

I condemn in the strongest terms the overnight Iranian strike on a Qatari gas facility. We are working towards a swift resolution to the situation in the Middle East, in the best interests of the British people – because there is no question that ending the war is the quickest way to reduce the cost of living.

Kemi Badenoch says it is "British values" to attack Muslims for praying in public. This is disgraceful and offensive. So I called it out in Parliament. The Tories are still the nasty party. @kemibadenoch must apologise immediately.

This Labour government is fighting people's corner. We're cutting energy bills. We're calling out price gouging. And just now the Prime Minister has set out further support for those who use heating oil. Affordability is the number one issue, and we're determined to act.

This is deeply disturbing. Under our laws, online platforms have a duty to keep people safe online. We're already tightening the rules on AI chatbots and I'm ready to take further action if necessary. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

No, it's not as you would know if you knew the first thing about energy 1. Renewables only produce electricity which is less than 20% of UK energy demand 2. It's impossible to electrify millions of homes, cars, trucks and industry in a few years... It will take over a decade if ever 3. Miliband only plans to decarbonise electricity in 2030...his strategy is to hope nothing bad happens in the meantime AND we can electrify in an unfeasibly short time 4. The REALITY is we will continue to need oil and gas for decades. Even the CCC doesn't think we'll have stopped by 2050. So we should maximise our own production 5. And we should NOT rush to build renewables because they are extremely expensive. Only at the height of the gas crisis in 2022 were they cheaper at the wholesale level (see charts). Their intermittency and low energy density make them uneconomic. Trying to rush deployment only makes them more so

So why are you making energy so expensive Ditch CP2030 for a start. Literally nobody thinks it's achievable and you're throwing a tonne of £££ at it Cancel AR7... Locking in crazy prices for 20 years is irresponsible Abandon CCS...$billions have been spent globally with almost nothing to show for it. The UK is not going to get a different result. Stop wasting our £££ Abandon carbon pricing. It's just a tax that serves no purpose since the coal exit Stop handing powers to the EU with nothing in return. It's not as if the European economies are booming. Don't tie us to a sinking ship Get manufacturing going again. Importing everything from China is making us poor and weak

If fuel companies try to rip off customers, my government will step in. @RachelReevesMP and @Ed_Miliband are bringing the bosses of the fuel companies in today, to make sure that customers aren’t losing out because of the conflict in the Middle East.

If you want to see the best and worst of the Commons, watch Catherine West's snippy response to Geoffrey Cox. Disoriented by a rare display of brilliance in the Commons, she can only call him patronising (inevitably, before reading off a sheet) and her colleagues can only jeer

Some lefties didn’t say a word Ricky Jones calling for “throats to be slit.” Not a word about aggressive, balaclava-clad far-left activists. Found it funny when Nigel Farage was “milkshaked”. But draw the line at an AI video of Jeremy Clarkson punching Keir Starmer. 🥴

The cost of the clean energy transition is less than the entire cost of the last fossil fuel crisis. A further reminder that politicians on the right who want to abandon our drive for clean power want to saddle our country with huge costs and risks. theguardian.com/environment/20…
