Caputo’s Bakery on Court Street, a.k.a. “the bread store,” has unexpectedly closed after 124 YEARS! They were a fifth-generation, family-run bakery for all that time. We’re all gonna need some time (and a seeded twist) to mourn this one.

AOC says we shouldn’t be using taxpayer money to build Trump’s ornate castle/ballroom while people are struggling to pay for healthcare and rent. Raju: Would you support authorizing the new ballroom? AOC: No. The president demolished the East Wing of the White House, a historic jewel of the American people, and he started to build this ballroom long before any incident. He also promised the American people that this was going to be built with private dollars, so the idea that they are trying to change the rationale for this doesn’t add up. The White House long had facilities for hosting, which also included the East Wing of the White House prior to them bulldozing the crown jewel of the American people. I don’t believe, in an era when they are jacking up costs, when they’re gutting everyone’s healthcare, and when people cannot afford their rent and their mortgages, that we should be using our treasure to build an ornate castle on a scale that is unprecedented and unbelievable. I’m sure that anybody who is against waste, fraud, and abuse would agree with me on that.

AOC on the White House blaming Democrats’ rhetoric for political violence: When you have people committing crimes in office, we have an obligation to say someone is committing a crime in office. For example, we still don’t have full compliance with the law on the Epstein files disclosure. We still have open questions about possible money laundering with these crypto deals, and there’s an open question of whether there’s bribery or extortion going on with these media companies and these settlements. I think it’s important to name things that are happening. I think that trying to use this as an opportunity to escape any accountability for any action is just not responsible.

130 Schools and Counting ☀️ Today, we took a trip to Marie Curie High School to mark the completion of another rooftop solar installation, bringing the total to 130 solar projects across @NYCSchools.

Making MOMI even cooler ❄️ Yesterday we cut the ribbon on a new HVAC system with @MovingImageNYC , a $2.7 million upgrade which will help keep the building cool and comfortable for visitors, especially in the summer.

Looking forward to when this jersey will either be updated or retired. The Mets New York script (first used in 1987) is awesome. Blue lettering with an orange outline, on a blue jersey isn’t it.

@johnsaponaro It’s because of the combined amount of money and years in their contracts. Nobody outside of the Tri-State cared about Lindor and the Mets when he and McNeil had their rat vs. raccoon scuffle.

I’m so tired of this. There are 29 other teams. Over 750 combined players on those rosters. Do we think they’re all best friends? How come Buster & others don’t wildly speculate, despite not having been there, about any of their relationships? Sports media is a joke. #LGM
