There is no evidence that Rajendra cancelled the earlier grant. Original grant by Rajaraja was 26 villages. Kulottunga’s plates talk about change of status of 5 villages, as you have explained.

From what PM @narendramodi is currently doing/ trying / achieving on his 5 nations tour, sooner or later you will see him being equated as a PM who also transforms into a Chief Executive Officer as n when situation demands- current situation is such that you need a CEO who can face multiple challenges, negotiate conflicting scenarios, meeting aspirations of his supporting classes, transform India completely and on all fronts and all this while achieving good growth and better standards for his citizens in a secured and safe environment and he scores on every front.
One can’t measure his performance as there is NO parallel to him - he is doing and undoing what was expected of him, while filling the gaps created by previous PMs or leaders. Awesome - this visit is one of his most transformative ones for sure!

Yes we are at 157th ranking in press freedom list but before u or anyone lectures us, care to answer:
1) what is that this ranking actually measures?
2) for those who don’t know it is not a measurement but a result of an opinion poll of a sample chosen by RSF. Yes RSF chooses a small, unnamed panel of "experts," hands them a questionnaire, and converts their mood into a precise-looking rank. No real count of ground reality, just answers converted to sentiment
after dressing it up as data.
3) They keep changing the ranking methodology. RSF itself admitted it overhauled the method in 2013 ( right before Modi became PM) and then again in 2022, and had to artificially rejig the old scores to compare them. So "India fell from 80th to 157th" is three different scales pretending to be one straight line.
4) No one can check their work; Infact NITI Aayog pointed out that RSF never publishes the question-wise scores and never reveals who answered. An index nobody can audit or reproduce is not data. It is an assertion wearing the costume of data.
5) Their own numbers betray the story; Infact RSF's own figures, India's sharpest fall happened before 2014, yet the write-up blames the Modi years. Clearly case of narrative running ahead of the evidence,.
6) The questionnaire is rigged against big democracies. NITI Aayog shows it is framed so only one answer counts as "free," and it routinely punishes countries with large public media. A loud, argumentative, thousand-channel democracy gets marked down but several quieter systems scores better than us.
7) RSF's biggest money comes from government and EU grants, its named state backers clustered in France. How can thry referee every government's press freedom while several of them fun them
8)The point is not that India is flawless. The point is that this ranking is a perception survey, built on a shifting ruler, audited by no one, funded by the very governments it judges.

World Press Freedom Index uses flawed methodology and often dubious or opaque data sources. This journo thinks that it is some kind of magic wand to wave at a Prime Minister who is the head of a country with world's 18% of the population.
