The opposition members under the umbrella of ADC know quite well that they are not ready for the election since all of them want to be president; they have now resorted to importing foreign interference into our elections by alleging one party state, as if the foreign governments don’t have their embassies and commissions here in Nigeria to know the lack of preparedness of the ADC.. Association of party-grabbing elements. @cnni @BBCHARDtalk @BBCWorld @FoxNews @SkyNews @FRANCE24 @USCongress_

STATEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE PRESIDENT TINUBU APPROVES N3.3 TRILLION PAYMENT PLAN TO RESTORE RELIABLE ELECTRICITY President Bola Tinubu has approved the payment plan to finally settle the outstanding debts under the Presidential Power Sector Financial Reforms Programme. The debt repayment plan followed the final review of the legacy debts that have beset the power sector for more than a decade. The long-standing debts accumulated between February 2015 and March 2025. Following verification, ₦3.3 trillion has been agreed as a full and final settlement, ensuring a fair and transparent resolution. Implementation has begun, with 15 power plants signing settlement agreements totalling ₦2.3 trillion. The Federal Government has already raised ₦501 billion to fund these payments. Out of the amount, N223 billion has been disbursed, with further payments underway. What this means for Nigerians: With payments reaching the power value chain, generation will be more stable. With power plants supported, electricity reliability will improve. And as the sector stabilises, more investment, more jobs, and better service will follow. “This programme is not just about settling legacy debts. It is about restoring confidence across the power sector — ensuring gas suppliers are paid, power plants can keep running, and the system begins to work more reliably," explained Olu Arowolo-Verheijen, Special Adviser on Energy to President Tinubu. “It is part of a broader set of reforms already underway — including better metering and service-based tariffs that link what you pay to the quality of electricity you receive. “The government is also prioritising power supply to businesses, industries, and small enterprises — because reliable electricity is critical to creating jobs, supporting livelihoods, and growing the economy. “The goal is simple: more reliable power for homes, stronger support for businesses, and a system that works better for all Nigerians," she added. President Tinubu has commended all stakeholders who supported efforts to resolve the legacy issues in the power sector. He has also confirmed that the next phase (Series II) will begin this quarter. In 2019 he was public about it; In 2023 he was hypocritically private about it masquerading as a journalist; meanwhile he has zero training or experience as a journalist. In 2027, he is wickedly pretentious about it. Social media vitriol, hate and revenue is more important to him than national interest. #comeoutofthepoliticalpartisancloset

Nobody handed me anything when I started playing chess in 2016…. I had to figure it out alone. So last month in Bayelsa, we showed up for 150 girls, some who had never touched a chess piece in their lives… They came curious, some of them shy. Some not even sure why they were there. Two days later, they were competing , Thinking. Winning… They left knowing they were capable of strategy. Of patience. Of thinking three moves ahead. Nobody told them that before. That’s chess. But honestly? That’s life… And we’re just getting started. This is why @promotingqueens exists.

"I don't see ADC as an opposition party: I see them as an association of people that are desperate for power. Individuals that are discredited, individuals that have no hope in hell of moving this nation forward. The opposition has collapsed in Nigeria. There is no opposition because they don't even know how to be in opposition. How can they keep the Government on its toes when they are busy bickering amongst themselves, fighting amongst themselves and they are fast asleep in bed snoring!"- @realFFK

Two months ago, one of my chess kids could not sit still for 5 minutes…. I mean that literally. Every session I’d show up thinking okay Perpetual, how are we getting through today. He was everywhere. Fidgeting, bouncing, staring at everything except the board. When his parents first reached out to me, I told them straight, before we even talk about chess, the first thing we need to work on is his focus. And chess? Chess is the perfect game for that. So that’s what we did. We just kept showing up… Fast forward to today. Right in the middle of our lesson, his dad goes “Coach, I want to show you something.” Takes off a pinned paper on the wall and slides a paper across the table without saying another word. A long math test…. I look at it. Then I look at him. The boy aced it. His dad’s eyes are doing that thing parents’ eyes do when they’re trying not to cry in front of you. He says “his focus has completely changed. Not just chess. Everything.” Two months ago this child could barely sit through a 30 minute session. Today he has a 1000+ rating AND he’s thriving in school. This is what people don’t understand about chess. You’re not just learning moves. You’re learning how to be still. How to think before you react. How to sit in a hard moment and not run from it. Those are life skills. And they transfer. The rating made me proud. But that math test? That one hit different.💜

BREAKING: “Our weapons are running out… Iran is closing in on us.” — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly sent an urgent message to Donald Trump as tensions in the Middle East continue to escalate. If true, this signals how dangerously close the region may be to a much larger confrontation. The big question now: What happens next?

We take the game to places you've never been. Enen though some of these girls haven't got access to education, we could still give them chess and they loved it!

Meet Unity💜💜💜 Unity is autistic. And yet, the moment she sat across the chessboard at our Rising Queens Bayelsa event… the world seemed to fade away. ☺️ She smiled. She focused. She played. And in that moment, nothing else mattered, not labels, not expectations, not anyone else’s story. Because chess only asks one question: What’s your next move??? Through @promotingqueens , we see it over and over: sometimes all a girl needs… is a board, a piece, and a chance to play. And suddenly, possibilities become real.💜💜💜

Sometimes the right decision doesn’t feel good at first…. It feels uncomfortable.
It feels unfamiliar.
It even makes you question yourself. But discomfort isn’t always a warning sign… sometimes it’s just growth happening. Don’t confuse feeling uncomfortable with being on the wrong path.

I bought a paint of crayfish for 10k. She told me it was 11,500. I begged her for 10k, she agreed. She packed it for me and I paid her and left. I went further inside the market and saw the same paint of crayfish for 8k. I went back to the woman that sold hers for me for 10k. I told her that I went inside the market and saw it for 8k so I will like to return the one she sold to me, she refused. In fact, this woman stopped talking to me immediately she refused. It was like I wasn't standing in front of her. I looked at her with disbelief and quietly left there in pain...
