@Math_files My Children came home with math that didn't make sense and I found out the Teachers rotated between classrooms...math was taught by English teachers and so on! I put a stop to it, but it took a while.

@Korchitskij76 @oneye But isn't this a chicken or egg problem? There's no international federation or world championship because there aren't enough people interested. Remember than chess had these things before the internet, when nothing was easy to access (by today's standards).

@oneye This is one of the serious obstacles to the wide-spreading of shogi, as is the lack of an international federation and a normal world championship.

That's a big problem in shogi world that doesn't exist in chess world. Kifu access is limited, you cannot follow your favourite players, you cannot root for anybody. (not to mention the LANGUAGE barrier on top of that) Where are we heading <angry>

Immanuel Kant never left his home town, Koenigsberg (today's Kaliningrad), never married, never changed his daily schedule or his diet, and died, presumably happy and mildly bored, at the age of 80. His last words were: "It's fine."

@fredericklowe63 @Clip_Master__ Let's just say that if that girl ever has children, she should make sure they never meet their grandfather. Don't let them near anyone prone to destructive rage.

@Clip_Master__ Wait first the TV was not hers. The father I am sure has a receipt. So back lash on a TV that he owned in the house that he paid for. So are you telling me a man can't destroy his own stuff if he wants in the house, electric and cable he paid for. He gave to TV to use not own.

A father is facing backlash after a video surfaced online showing him destroying his daughter’s TV because she allegedly refused to clean her room. Some people are praising his parenting style, while others say the behavior is abusive. What do you think?

@FreeRangeKids @netflix The author of the book, William Golding, spent his youth in a boarding school under presumably constant adult supervision.

Soon everyone will be watching @Netflix's new Lord of the Flies. So let me repeat what the great Peter Gray says about that story: IT. IS. FICTION. We can't use it as a reason to give kids less freedom because "this is what happens." No it isn't. (REAL story of 6 kids marooned on an island found them working cooperatively and rescued more than a YEAR LATER. Look up "Tongan Castaways.") As for the Netflix series, the book was adapted for the screen by Jack Thorne, co-writer of “Adolescence,” which was ALSO FICTION. These twin visceral, dystopian soap operas about how horrible kids are when left to their own devices -- left with not enough adult supervision -- have a tendency to seep under the skin because they are so dramatic and shocking. I just wish there was some way to dramatize how depressing it is to grow up with CONSTANT adult supervision. Mental health problems are soaring among kids and we keep hearing about how little they are allowed to do on their own. 50% of parents won't let their kids, 8-12, go to another aisle at the store. That stat is NOT FICTION. It could be what's crippling a generation with anxiety. But it is not DRAMATIC, so we just keep perseverating on how bad kids behave when they're not in travel soccer. variety.com/2026/tv/review…

@RobertoTenore @GordonGChang He can be subpoenaed. As I understand it (lawyers, correct me if I'm wrong), he can't "take the Fifth" for anything covered by Autopen's pardon. But he could be prosecuted for new perjurous statements.

Fauci’s actions caused the deaths of about eight million people, 1.2 million of them Americans. His actions may or may not have constituted federal crimes, but he almost certainly committed perjury, which is a crime. The least Trump can do is prosecute him for that. Let a jury decide.

@TAmTrib @Will_Tanner_1 You guys are all nuts. We are living in the golden age of college football. The product on the field has never been better, and we finally have a meaningful postseason instead of a “national championship game” between two teams picked by committee, and various shitty bowl games.

College football is another one of those things that destroyed itself by putting money before tradition, and now is just running on fumes It was enjoyable when teams kept players for years, the student-athletes at least pretended to care, and the other schools played were in the same general region and recruited from that region Now it's just a mercenary endeavor, with the players bouncing between schools and collecting absurd checks, as schools travel haphazardly across the country to play dizzying assortments of other schools with which they have nothing to do culturally or geographically What's the point?
🇺🇸 The American Culturist 🇺🇸@MericaCulture

Maybe I'm just getting old, but college football is dead. If you're still watching, you're doing so purely out of habit. Give me the BCS era with the geographically driven Power 5 conferences, no NIL, and no unlimited transfers over this current slop driven by TV money.
