A lot of Europeans forget we also have brick homes. Here was a home in Goldsby, OK (tornado capital of the world) this home was a newly built 2 story 5000 ft^2 home with anchor bolts spaced 48” with nails in between construction to survive tornadoes and heavy winds.

On this date during 1961, a multi-vortex F3 tornado struck SE Cushing, #OKwx. It was one of the two F3 tornadoes that were observed. This multi-vortex tornado was part of a "tornado carousel" produced by a single supercell on that day. Through aerial work and researching archives, I have been able to determine the two F3s and two F2s were plausibly part of a continuous multi-vortex track. Three homes were destroyed along with a hangar. OHP trooper Carl Pugh chased after the twister. He bolted ahead of it and saved a family via vehicle south of town before the large F3 could blast away their entire house and farm. One indirect death was attributed to the parent storm system. It is the 2nd strongest tornado to strike Cushing behind the 1942 Cushing to Sand Springs F4. Sources: OKTornadoDB, Cushing Citizen

OTD in 2013, an EF5 tornado struck the city of Moore, Oklahoma, resulting in 24 fatalities, 212 injuries and roughly $2 billion in damage. It would not be until June 20, 2025 that another EF5 tornado occurred.

As expected. Those in the WX business usually do one of several things , one is block the truth . The other is make downgrading sarcastic remarks to make you look uneducated and non credible. These days a autistic person that cannot even drive a car can or write with a pen can get a college degree. After seeing the latest batch of grads out of WX school , I have absolutely no doubt there is nothing superior about any WX person vs someone who is bringing the truth to the table out in public that is not scared of opinions .
