Flying Fish Technologies, rolling out fast underwater photogrammetry and ML-assisted ecological survey, to coral reefs and other difficult-to-access underwater terrain, around the world. Specialising in projects upwards of one square kilometre (250 acres).

#CoralReef monitoring programs - once restricted by technology, now restricted by lack of vision/innovation. Our #Vertigo3 underwater survey robots ACR rivals acoustic at over 100ha (250 acres) per day & Our unique pipeline produces large scale photorealistic digital twins.

@ReeFi_Aus @LumaLabsAI @vibrantnebula That’s a pretty challenging subject. Interesting how it handles the transients of the water surface, and the movement/sub-pixel detail of the algae growing on much of that colony.

@BTKettle @d_gershenson Scalability for coral restoration is why we started the company. Need billions of coral - and more, with solutions to solve for habitat destruction and the climate crisis

@d_gershenson @CoralVitaReefs Scaleability… a million outplanted corals is a drop in the ocean… literally a couple acres of nice reef. Before Jacques Cousteau only a few hundred hard hat divers. SCUBA has created 10 million enthusiasts - not enough to change the world. Scale is the missing ingredient.

@d_gershenson $350M is not a lot if the goal is radical transformation. So I’d spend it on empowering the next billion hearts and minds. I’d pick ONE focus. Coral reefs - canary of climate change - and employ new tech to bring the issues to living rooms as immersive SCUBA-less experiences.

@minorityprogram And about ‘properly documented’… not really. As good as old tech and limited budgets have allowed

@minorityprogram For something this big, and@all of it underwater, even surveying all the reefs each year would be a huge advance. But@once we have a mapped framework, it can be added to very quickly.

Thanks @naturebarrels & Sasquatch! Its easy to work hard for a great cause. Big shout out to the talented and passionate @ReeFi_Aus team. There’s some lofty goals, but the tech is good and there’s never been a more pressing time to get big things done for the world’s reefs.
