Most coaches say they don't have favorites, but Gary Rankin isn't most coaches. The all-time wins leader in TN HS football says he will treat one position group better: The offensive line. And if you had a problem with that, LG and RG were open positions ready for competition.

Every coach has favorites, anyone that says otherwise I think may be lying. We favorite the ones that show up, work hard, love their teammates and never quit. Not hard to be coaches favorite. Those things I just listed off, take very little talent....

@coachdecost1 Coaching is more than scores and records. Life is full of tough seasons. Did the kids keep fighting until the end? Did they support each other when things got tough? Did they show up and work when they didn’t feel like it? If so, they are better humans because of it. That’s a win

So thankful that Indiana voted to allow us to have our limited contact period. Every day we go out there, I tell the guys “This is officially the worst we will look all season.” it’s just good to get all of those “worsts” out of the way as early as possible.
