🚨 JAPANESE ECONOMY IS ENTERING A FULL-BLOWN CRISIS MODE
And the bond market is telling exactly that.
This week, both 10Y and 20Y Japanese bond yields reached a 30-year high.
When bond yields move at such a rapid pace, it signals just one thing.
Investors aren't feeling confident in holding the government debt.
But why is this happening?
1) High debt-to-GDP ratio
Japan's debt-to-GDP ratio is already above 200%, and it's going up only.
With rising bond yields, the interest payments on debt are going up too, causing economic turbulence.
2) Low birth rate
Last year, Japan recorded just 671,000 births, the lowest in 127 years.
A low birth rate means fewer future workers, and the bond market is pricing that in real time.
3) Currency devaluation
BOJ has tried several interventions to prop up the yen, but everything has failed.
Now, the market thinks only aggressive BOJ rate hikes could strengthen the yen, and that's why bond yields are pushing higher.
Apart from these, low GDP and rising inflation are also contributing to a rise in bond yields, which is pushing Japan towards a crisis that the world has rarely seen before.
