I traveled to Copake, New York this past January to sit in on their ORES public hearing. This town has been trying to fight off Shepherd’s Run Solar for almost a DECADE! The elected town officials, the county board, the citizens, and the nonprofits in the town unanimously oppose this project. The Office of Renewable Energy Siting is forcing it anyway. This is what the dismantling of democracy looks like in real-time.

They’re military barracks disguised as “cultural centers.” Erdoğan personally inaugurated the $110 million mega-mosque fortress in Lanham, Maryland - just miles from D.C. - and he made his intentions crystal clear: “The mosques are our barracks, the domes are our helmets, the minarets are our bayonets, and the faithful are our soldiers.” Assimilation? He calls it “a crime against humanity.” He wants his people loyal to Ankara, not America. Europe already got destroyed by this exact playbook: over 900 Diyanet-controlled mosques in Germany alone pushing anti-Western propaganda, spying on dissidents, and building parallel societies that refuse to melt into the West. Now it’s here. Same outposts. Same unassimilated colonies. Same Muslim Brotherhood networks (CAIR, USCMO, and others) getting high-fives from Erdoğan’s people right inside the American Diyanet HQ. We handed our streets to Turkish nationalists, our institutions to foreign agents, and our future to the very people plotting Islamic conquest - while MOST of our gutless ELECTED politicians do nothing. Meet the brainchild behind Mamdani’s success: Morris Katz. Morris Katz has built his entire career around electing DSA-aligned candidates and reshaping the Democratic Party in the DSA’s image. His client list reads like a who’s who of the far left: Zohran Mamdani, a card-carrying DSA member who just became mayor of New York City and openly calls himself a democratic socialist; Graham Platner in Maine, whom Katz personally recruited from his oyster farm with zero political experience and is now the frontrunner to unseat Susan Collins; Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan, a progressive running for Senate with a long history of far-left advocacy; Claire Valdez in Queens who is a DSA member and Mamdani acolyte; and Brad Lander in Brooklyn, who is challenging one of the most pro-Israel Democrats in Congress. The through line across every single one of these candidates is the same: anti-establishment, anti-Israel, and deeply embedded in the DSA’s ideological universe. What makes Katz particularly effective, and particularly alarming to anyone paying attention, is that he cracked the code the DSA never could on its own. For decades the socialist left struggled to get traction outside of college campuses and urban enclaves because their message felt foreign and threatening to working-class voters. Katz figured out how to strip the ideology down to its emotional core: anger at billionaires, anger at rigged systems, anger at politicians who sold out, and package it in the language of regular people. He finds candidates who look and sound like outsiders, puts a working-class frame around a radical agenda, and uses viral pop culture media to make it feel organic rather than orchestrated. The result is genuinely alarming. Mamdani was polling in single digits and is now the mayor of the largest city in America. Platner had a Nazi tattoo, a decade of offensive Reddit posts, and no political experience whatsoever, and he just cleared the Democratic primary field in Maine. Katz’s genius is that he understands voters are so fed up with the political establishment that they will overlook almost anything if a candidate talks a good game. He is essentially giving radical politics a working-class disguise, and it is working. At 26 years old, with multiple races still live in 2026, he is quietly becoming one of the most consequential political operatives in the country.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ And the most dangerous.

I watched some busy bobolinks at the Fort Edward Grasslands this week jump in and out of the grass, singing, claiming their nesting sites for the breeding season ahead. As a grassland species, they need contiguous acreage and long native grasses to build their nests and continue the species. Fragmenting grasslands leads to habitat loss for bobolinks. Our state’s own @NYSDEC has given the bobolink a “Species of Special Concern” status due to their continued declining numbers. The DEC has admitted 10 of the 11 top grassland species of concern live at the Fort Edward Grasslands. That’s why they covered the area in “Critical Endangered Species” signage. We cannot allow our state’s own environmental body to tell us an area is so ecologically important that it carries numerous environmental designations… and then try to convince us an 1,800 solar industrial complex belongs in the middle of this area. That is gaslighting of the most disgusting caliber. It will shatter any faith New Yorkers had in the environmental law of this state forever. And it’ll push species like the bobolink even further towards extinction when one of the last grasslands of its kind in the northeast is fragmented. I refuse to allow this to happen.
