@BitcoinGambit @sashahodler The payment processor (Bitpay) isn’t the issue. At the end of the day, we can exchange BTC that has increased in value since we bought it for a Ferrari. Ferrari does not charge customers any extra fees or markups for choosing to pay with crypto. We can agree to disagree.

Congress just introduced a bill to buy 200,000 BTC per year for 5 years and hold it for 20 years. They are considering revaluing the U.S. gold reserves from the 1973 statutory price of $42.22/oz to current market prices to finance Bitcoin accumulation. Bullish!

@markspin @shaguncrypto Absolutely. Risky to be sure, when the LTV goes the wrong direction, you could lose your stack or a portion of it. I haven’t done this, just studying it. 🤝

I get the logic and over time I do think it continues to go up. But if I borrowed last year when Bitcoin was $125k and now it’s $75k’ish, I’m assuming I still have to service that debt. I can’t just re-fi at a higher value and pay the loan down. I get the premise but the devil seems to be in the details.

You could literally - - Stack 5 BTC at $70k ($350,000 total) - Bitcoin reaches $1M - Borrow just 4% against it yearly That’s $200,000/year in liquidity No capital gains tax & still holding the asset Why are people still trading their Bitcoin away?

@markspin @shaguncrypto The logic is that BTC goes up in value each year. The borrower keeps borrowing against the increasingly valuable stack. When they die, heirs inherit the BTC at current value not original cost, (stepped up value) avoiding capital gains taxes. The heirs pay off the loan.

Boomers didn’t buy RVs that they couldn’t afford, we tented it. Boomers didn’t buy new cars, we bought used ones. Boomers didn’t spend six bucks for a cup of coffee at Starbucks. Boomers could hang all their clothes in a four foot closet. Boomers didn’t cry how tough their lives were, we fought through the tough times. Boomers have everything they have because they managed their money, didn’t squander it on frivolous things, and invested it in proven technologies and long term successful businesses. Boomers have zero fucks to give for whiners, fools, and couch potatoes.

@GaryH72058 @Bitcoin_Teddy What happened to the energy you spent working hard for your dollars? It’s gone. You traded that energy working in exchange for a dollar. A dollar that is inflated and debased every day. Prices of goods go up in dollars. Money is an abstract form of our time and energy.

Kevin O’Leary says people in credit card debt shouldn’t be buying coffee “If you have a credit card balance that goes into the next month and you’re spending $5 on a coffee, you’re crazy” “I’ll give you permission to buy a coffee for $5 if you have no balance on your credit card at the end of the month” “The reason I own all the credit card companies is people are paying 23% interest” “Why would you do that to yourself? I can’t make 23% in the market every year. Why would you let someone do that to you?” “So no, no coffees for you except the one you make at home for 19 cents unless you pay off your credit card”

@JoeCassandra So what does this say about speaker of the house Mike Johnson poor mouthing that congressmen can’t make it on $174,000 a year because of inflation and that they need to be able to trade stocks to support their families? I’m sure that’s ”different” somehow, correct?

Here's your harsh truth: Inflation isn't the problem. You just think you're entitled to every luxury. - You don't want to live in a 1000 sq ft house, it has to be 3000 sq ft - You need to drive a new car every 4 years - Vacation has to be at a nice hotel with room service - Dinner has to be Door Dashed because you're tired - I need a new iPhone every 18 months - Everyone goes to Disney World, so I deserve to as well No you don't. Make more money or be quiet. You're not entitled to eat out every day. Growing up, we ate out 2x a month, and it was a bag of burgers and a few large fries we split. "We shouldn't have to live like they did in the old days" No luxury is an entitlement. You still have to put in the work to afford it.

They loved Marjorie Taylor Greene, now they hate her. They loved Thomas Massie, now they hate him. They loved Lauren Boebert, now they hate her. They made fun of Biden for nodding off ("Sleepy Joe), now they ignore Trump outright falling asleep. They put "I Did That" Biden stickers on high gas prices, now they ignore gas prices being even higher. They bragged about Trump being the no wars President, now they support war. They bashed Biden for sending money to Ukraine, now they ignore Trump sending money to both Ukraine and Israel. They demanded the Epstein files, now they bash anyone asking for the Epstein files. To be a MAGA is to be a slave. Not physically, but mentally. They stand for nothing. We're up against people who stand for nothing. And with the most misplaced confidence you've ever seen, they try to tell us whats-what. We shouldn't even acknowledge these people. The Trump supporters that remain are mentally too far gone. I don't even want to argue with them anymore.

BREAKING: Trump just told you exactly what happens when this war ends. "The stock market will go through the roof." "Inflation will go way down." > Hormuz reopens. Oil crashes. > Oil crashes. Inflation drops. > Inflation drops. Rate cuts accelerate. > Rate cuts accelerate. Liquidity floods markets. > Liquidity floods markets. Everything pumps. Trump has been playing chess this entire time. Close Hormuz. Break Iran. Open Hormuz. Collect the reward. The war is 70-75% complete. The finish line is closer than anyone realizes. When it ends. Everything reprices at once. Stocks. Crypto. Risk assets. All of it. Through the roof.

@greendragonhq Checks notes: Avg. net worth of a member of congress is $1,000,000. Mike Johnson’s salary: $223,000; so that would be more than the figure he’s poor mouthing about. Healthcare: Congress gets it for free off taxation of the people they serve.

I saw this video yesterday and assumed Mike Johnson was on SNL, that’s how outrageously out of touch the Republican party is. Mike Johnson is actually making an argument that we should allow insider trading because his $170k/year salary is not enough to live off of. This is the same guy that said a $7.25/hr minimum wage was enough to live on.

“WE NEED TO LET THEM DO INSIDER TRADING TO FEED THEIR FAMILIES.” Congress makes $174k. Median income is about $63k. Minimum wage is $7.25. If your “public servant” needs Wall Street crime to survive, that’s not a government, that’s a cartel. Welcome to neo-feudalism. You’re the peasant, they’re the aristocracy.
