Germany now requires men aged 17-45 to get military approval before leaving the country. The rule comes from a Cold War-era law reactivated this year. France also scrapped its civilian national service and replaced it with voluntary military training for 18-19 year olds with a goal to train 50,000 reserves by 2035. Two of Europe's most powerful nations preparing Gen Z for something they haven't named yet. Thirty-three days after Operation Epic Fury and Operation Lion’s Roar began, the war has outgrown the men who planned it and the targets they named. Cast at the start as a strike on military infrastructure, it has left the Middle East counting its dead in schoolyards, hospital wards and broken homes, across Iran, Israel and Lebanon, and across the wider belt of violence stretching through Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Turkey, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. The civilians killed were absent from the stated design of the campaign, yet they now stand at its center, written into the war’s daily language by force of number and grief. #MiddleEastConflict #IranIsrael #GulfTensions #WarInMiddleEast #IsraelIranWar
