@BalancedBM I get it, your busy. But when you ask me to send off labs and a bunch of other stuff that you ask, and then ghost me, its just wrong. Patients time is just as valuable. Just saying.

@Farsidecradle I'm not Ray Peat. I have children, doing a PhD, and try to run a business on top. I try and answer all the messages that I get but invariably miss a few. I certainly don't check all my messages on social media platforms, Stopped doing full coaching because of the load. Imagine!

@BalancedBM It's funny how you follow lots of Ray Peats work but yet you ignore messages on different platforms from people instead of just saying sorry, too busy. Imagine RP ignoring people that messaged him for help. Never!

Good news is that P5 is due in next week. In other good news I have a higher bloom gelatin and managed to reduce the price by £3.00 per bag. Cheaper than collagen and hydrolysate with all the benefits. balancedbodymind.com/shop/p/beef-ge…

.@BalancedBM's pregnenolone continues to be out of stock and there is no other brand who's product has worked as well for me. PurplePandaLabs sells pregnenolone powder at $2.20 per gram. What do we think chat? Should I try some and report back? Can pregnenolone synthesised in a Chinese lab be trusted?

If you only tool you have is a hammer, you only see (insulin resistance) nails.
Camus@newstart_2024

Dr. Benjamin Bikman drops a bombshell on high blood pressure, infertility, and erectile dysfunction that flips conventional medicine on its head: “High blood pressure is almost a guarantee of insulin resistance — the overwhelmingly most common cause.” He goes further: - Erectile dysfunction in men is often the earliest visible sign of insulin resistance — blood vessels can no longer dilate properly, making erections impossible. -PCOS (the leading cause of infertility in women) is at its core a metabolic disorder driven by insulin resistance — even in lean women who “look healthy” and don’t meet standard insulin resistance criteria. - Scratch beneath the surface, and insulin resistance is already present at the fat cell level — the true origin point. Science nugget: Insulin resistance begins in adipose (fat) tissue long before it shows up in blood tests. Chronically elevated insulin impairs nitric oxide production (needed for vasodilation), drives ovarian androgen excess in PCOS, and promotes vascular stiffness leading to hypertension and ED. Bottom line: Many “unexplained” conditions aren’t mysterious — they’re downstream effects of insulin resistance hiding in plain sight. What “healthy-looking” symptom or diagnosis in your life (or someone close) might actually be insulin resistance in disguise?

This is utter madness. Mammograms are not enjoyable, it's true. But they save lives. I have 4 friends who found breast cancer because of their breast screening. All caught early enough to be treated. Ladies, you are certifiably INSANE not to go for breast screenings. Book today!

Regarding Neil Ferguson “And so my conclusion from that is not that he was stupid or that he was doing bad science. He wasn't doing bad science. He was doing exactly what he needed to do and he was paid to do it and he did it knowingly and intentionally. So I think it's a mistake to go too deep into showing how these papers are scientifically wrong and he didn't consider this and he didn't consider that and the model is this and the model is that. From the beginning, the entire thing is just a piece of propaganda. So his job is to be a propagandist. And so anything that he puts out cannot be analyzed or considered as a scientific production. It is not a production of anything that has to do with science. It is a production of propaganda and public relations.” Debbie Lerman Episode 445 NEVER FORGET WHAT THEY DID TO US

@DoctorTro It's well-known that low-carbohydrate diets worsen insulin sensitivity as an adaptive mechanism to preserve glucose for the brain. They are great for symptom management in type 2 diabetes, but there needs to be some extent of fat loss to address the underlying pathology.

If you ask Grok to compare Gilbert Ling's association induction hypothesis, whilst considering Troshin and Matveev's inputs to Modern cell biology and biological pumps. Grok prefers the AIH as a more coherent argument.

Pregnenolone reduces depression in people with bipolar disorder. Oral pregnenolone increased blood levels of its metabolite, allopregnanolone, which is now a very expensive, prescription drug used for postpartum depression. “The findings suggest that treatment with pregnenolone was associated with improvement in depressive symptoms based on the primary outcome measure of HRSD scores. We also observed higher remission rates on the IDS-SR with pregnenolone than placebo.” The HRSD (Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression) is a clinician-rated interview score that measures how severe depression symptoms are. The IDS-SR (Inventory of Depressive Symptomatology – Self-Report) is a patient self-report questionnaire score that measures how severe depression symptoms are. “Administration of pregnenolone was associated with large changes in serum levels of pregnenolone and two of the three other neurosteroids tested. The several-fold increases in pregnenolone and allopregnanolone levels posttreatment are consistent with findings in a previous study that administered pregnenolone (500 mg/day) for 8 weeks to patients with schizophrenia.”

“To produce pregnenolone, thyroid, vitamin A, and cholesterol have to be delivered to the mitochondria in the right proportion and sufficient quantity. Normally, stress is balanced by increased synthesis of pregnenolone, which improves the ability to cope with stress. Lipid peroxidation, resulting from the accumulation of unsaturated fatty acids, iron, and energy deficiency, damages the mitochondrias' ability to produce pregnenolone. When pregnenolone is inadequate, cortisol is over-produced. When progesterone is deficient, estrogen's effect is largely unopposed. When both thyroid and progesterone are deficient, even fat cells synthesize estrogen.” — Ray Peat: The problem of Alzheimer's disease as a clue to immortality

@salicylat @somaobscura @BalancedBM Ty. I’ve read that alpha by itself should be avoided though. High alpha with the others is OK afaik but alpha toc by itself, not so much Just FYI Jury is still out on tocotrienols; some say you have to take them separate from tocopherols. At least red palm ones have them
