My husband does this weird thing. He leans in and listens. Doesn't interrupt doesn't offer counter points. I get it all out. Sometimes he'll say I'm so sorry honey I do own that, and can't promise I won't be stupid again but I can tell you I never meant to hurt or anger you. Or he'll let me finish lol then just says hmmm interesting that your impression was so off when I thought...( fill in THAT blank) But in all honesty, he listens and truly tries to understand and in two weeks' time.The same situation can come up.And I have seen him actually try to divert and go on a different route.He makes new mistakes.He never makes the same old one if that makes any sense.So by him listening to me and seeing him try to adjust things.He can control it actually works to his benefit because I don't sound like a shrew, screaming bloody murder at him.I literally look at him and go.I am extremely upset with you right now.And that's it we talk. When you argue you're not listening.You're thinking ahead to utter words to counteract what you're hearing or what triggered you on both sides.If you interrupt someone in a discussion, it's because you didn't listen past that point.And that's the whole point, it's not about you, it's not about the other person, it's about the couple that is what my husband's calm demeanor taught me

Just realized something that honestly made me stop for a second… $2,000 rent a month. That’s $24,000 a year. Stay there 5 years… that’s $120,000. Gone. No ownership. No asset. Nothing to show for it. Just paid to exist somewhere. That’s actually insane when you really think about it.
