I have always said that if I hadn’t grown up in Flushing, where the Mets were the hometown team, I probably would have been a lifelong sports fan. I liked them as a small child, but by the time I was 8, I realized that rooting for the Mets was a mugs’ game. Ended up souring me to the whole dirty business.

Ever wonder why Red Delicious showed up in the cafeteria more than any other apple? It's because USDA's bulk-purchase list for schools left out newer varieties like Cosmic Crisp. My amendment gets USDA buying the newer, better-tasting ones too. Farmers like ApplegirlKait (Kaitlyn Thornton) grow both, from Red Delicious for export to Cosmic Crisp for flavor. Great to chat with Kait about our food system and ag in Washington State.

I’m seeing this described as “rotating villain” strategy but these folks are just consistent villains. Rotating villain absolutely exists as a phenomenon but these folks are just always bad. (Except MGP on Red Delicious apples and bright headlights. She’s right about that. Villain on the rest.)

Congress is not serious. We are voting on a stock trading ban for members of Congress… BUT Republicans added voter-ID in the legislation. Not to get Dems to vote for voter-ID, but to get them to vote against the stock trading ban, so they can use it in the Nov. election.

In my opinion the ridiculous casualty estimate has more to do with equivocating the actions in Gaza (ie "so you have a problem with Israel killing 70k+? What about Iran killing 52k in a day?)
