THIS IS HORIFFIC Brave mum Lucy Godley fought for justice after years of horrific abuse from her ex-partner Ben Siddle who has now been jailed for 23 years. Siddle, 27, subjected her to repeated beatings with steel cap boots while she was pregnant, strangulation, sexual assaults, suffocation with a towel and chemical burns from a diffuser. Lucy, 29, from Portsmouth, dropped to six stone, suffered CPTSD and chronic pain, but logged every incident and provided evidence to police. She said there were times she wanted to die to escape him but she kept fighting for herself and her children. Siddle was convicted of 10 counts including actual bodily harm, sexual assaults and witness intimidation. The judge called his behaviour abhorrent and imposed an indefinite sex offender register and restraining order.
