@henrywinter You are so two faced when it comes to Manchester City. I honestly feel you give journalism a bad name.

Does honesty pay? Haaland could have reacted theatrically to Gabriel and got him sent off, and a 3-match ban. Arsenal have cover but Gabriel would have been a loss. Haaland is honest. Stayed on his feet. PL Key Match Incidents panel says Gabriel should have got red not yellow 1/2

Without a doubt, the worst season of all time. The worst quality of football the Premier League has ever seen, countless boring games, terrible football, a severe lack of quality. It’s the most forgettable season ever and no one will remember this Arsenal title win

Myles Lewis-Skelly: central midfielder, crowd-lifter, foul-winner. Extraordinary that he played 76 senior matches before he was given an opportunity to start a game in his actual position. Big chance he leaves #AFC this summer but it would be such a shame telegraph.co.uk/football/2026/…

Question for a payments expert. What I pay for something by card in Spain, the reader offers me the choice to pay in euros or dollars. Obviously dollars are removed from my account. And the cafe gets euros. So what’s really going on in the transaction that requires this step?

@romanhelmetguy This is a moronic take. “Deterrents mean a society is not high trust”. A high trust society comes exactly because folks know that in edge cases there are deterrents. There is incredible civic sense in Singapore which you have clearly missed. In part because of national service.

Singapore is not a high trust society, it’s a port city where order is enforced by a draconian police state that canes people for stuff that isn’t even a crime here. If that police state disappeared next Tuesday, you’d have a race war by the weekend. Nice place to visit though.
Tetra | ChadFish@TetraChad

Singapore is a high trust society and doesnt have a homogenous culture. Different races and ethnic groups packed into a small space yet you can walk around at 3am drunk with cash hanging out of your pocket and a $100k watch on your wrist and no one will do anything

@stoolpresidente Yeah - Mamdani’s right with needing to tax Pied a Terre’s / second homes more but bringing in a citizen unwarranted to try and curry favor with his base was unnecessary. Go on Ken.

I’m not the biggest Ken Griffin fan from the GameStop saga days. But I’d love for him to give Zohran a big fuck you and pull his construction plans and pull the hundreds of millions he pays in taxes and charity. NYC officials are hilarious. All they do is say they hate rich peole and then beg them to stay and pay for all their useless shit. There was zero reason for Zohran to antagonize Griffin except to appease his yellow and purple haired communist base. He could have still initiated the tax without trying to be Mr Cool Guy Communist and rubbing people’s faces in it. Why would any rich person stay there? NYC wanted a communist mayor. They got a communist mayor.
Negligible Capital@negligible_cap

Ken Griffin is “appalled” that Zohran used his $238m Manhattan penthouse in his tax the rich promotional video Citadel is now apparently considering bailing on their construction plans to build a new office in Midtown. The project would involve $6 billion in spending and would create 15k permanent jobs in NYC according to Citadel’s COO "It is shameful that he used Ken's name as the example of those who supposedly aren't carrying their fair share of the burdens associated with New York City's often costly and wasteful spending," the email said. "In doing so, the mayor has once again manifested the ignorance and disdain of the elite political class towards those who have been consistently committed to building one of the greatest cities in the world." Would be both incredibly petty but also hilarious if Citadel backed out of their plans over this

@sliceinterlude ?? What does it have to do with color? Benitez was called a fat Spanish waiter by his own fans. Tony Adams was mocked relentlessly for his slightly unique training video. Football fans make fun of people regardless of skin color, creed, or religion.

Rosenior LinkedIn jokes might be funny but it is telling that pretty much every Black coach that dares to be somewhat ‘intellectual’ with their tactics and messaging gets labelled as a ‘Linkedin’, ‘charlatan’ or ‘hipster’ coach that doesn’t deserve their position
