To make matters worse @marksandspencer your customer service team have been incredibly unhelpful to my 75 year old mum who’s trying to report the problem! Surely there’s a way to help? 🙏🏼

Hi @marksandspencer my mum sent me this gift but as you can see your delivery team didn’t pay any heed to the instructions 🥺 the champagne is completely crushed. The bottom fell out the box when I lifted it. Can you help please?

London, 1910... On a biting winter morning in Whitechapel, an eight-year-old girl named Eleanor Graves stood each day in front of a bakery window. Her curls were tangled, her fingers raw from the cold, and her patched dress hung loosely over thin limbs. Pressed to her chest was an empty cloth bag—hope wrapped in silence. Behind the glass, golden loaves, warm buns, and jam tarts glistened in the early light. But Eleanor had no pennies. No food. No future. Her father, an Irish laborer, had died in a scaffolding collapse. Her mother worked long hours at the washhouse, scrubbing strangers’ clothes. Yet the deepest ache wasn’t in her belly—it was in the quiet realization that some children were born with everything, while others were born with nothing but hunger. And so Eleanor made herself a promise. She would learn to read. She would find a way out—not just for herself, but for every child like her. With newspapers scavenged from gutters and alleys, she taught herself letters. A parish priest noticed the curious girl with the fierce eyes and found her a place at the local church school. There, Eleanor discovered a worn anatomy book and fell in love with the idea of healing. She dreamed not of riches or comfort, but of relief—of lifting small bodies out of pain. In 1923, with a scholarship and the stubbornness of the forgotten, she entered university. As a poor girl in a man’s world, she was mocked, ignored, dismissed. But she endured. In 1930, she became a pediatrician, dedicating her life to combating childhood malnutrition. Years later, known simply as Dr. Graves, she ran a modest clinic in Mayfair by day and returned to East London by night, her satchel filled with medicine, bread, and second-hand coats. She never married, never vacationed, never saved. “I can't change the world,” she once whispered to a student, “but I can change the night of a child.” Her charity, The Bread of Dreams, provided free meals and medical care to thousands. When she died in 1980—alone, in a rented room lined with children's drawings and letters—there were no headlines, no statues, no streets bearing her name. And yet, somewhere in London, a child eats tonight without fear, and Eleanor Graves breathes quietly on in that warmth. © Old London Photos #drthehistories

@Vitality_UK hello, why is it taking so long for points to show and also why do I have to keep reporting missing points? I have to report at least twice a week. App is up to date and do us my watch. There must be an easier way?!?

I used to absolutely love reading to my kids when they were young and Julia Donaldson books were a particular favourite. Even though my kids are teenagers now, I still secretly buy every new book she releases. I've got a stash hidden away like a junkie or a 90s porn fiend.

My partner has collected subbuteo since he was a boy and had this ridiculous setup in his spare room with a stadium, camera men, floodlights and trophies etc. Beyond tragic. I've moved in and just cleared the whole room out whilst he is away with work. All gone.

@marksandspencer I’ve paid for my little girl’s: birthday cake to be delivered today for her party tomorrow. Am I likely to get it and what happens if it doesn’t arrive in time? I assume you’ll refund me for a cake I can’t use?

I have 5 grand-kids. Each time one was born, I set up an email address for them. I send them random emails of things they did or said, special occasions like birthdays, etc. Things that would be forgotten in time. When they're 18, I'll give them their email address and password.

Since sharing this photo yesterday, I’ve been subject to some pretty horrible comments about my appearance and weight. I contemplated deleting it. But instead, I’ve decided to post it again to show I’m not ashamed of my body!! 😃

Got a colonoscopy when I was 50. Obviously glad to get a clean bill of health. But super happy to see at the top of the report that I had done an excellent job of preparing for the experience. My colon was spotless. So proud.

@GladiatorsTV Great concept but you’d need to slow from sprint to take the stairs one at a time so as others have said either widen the stairs or dispense the need to go one at a time. Felt sorry for the contender who made it!

This Hogmanay, we're asking residents in our local area to refrain from setting off fireworks, following the death of our red panda kit Roxie on bonfire night. As always, we will do all we can to protect our animals from fireworks, including keeping them indoors and providing deep bedding where possible to reduce the impact of the noise. @Edinburgh_CC cannot create a fireworks exclusion zone around the zoo in time for Hogmanay due to the minimum consultation period required, so we are asking residents to help us by not setting off fireworks which may frighten animals. Thank you 💛
