@starlingeliass @pmarca @grok wind resistance kills fuel economy and battery range
in real world terms: $10 put into a 1985 Ford F-150, with (to be polite) the wind resistance of a brick, 15 mpg at $4.19/gallon gets you 35 miles, where $10 put into a Tesla Model 3 at 0.15 per kWh gets you 256 miles

@mikepat711 not at poor people houses either
i'm seeing feckin Uwchlan Twnshp multi million dollar houses with lawn signs against the West Whiteland DC ...where they don't even pay property tax or send their kids to school

@JBSDC i'm sorry i can't hear you over the sound of these institutions simply collapsing all around us

First sign that we might actually be in a stock market bubble.
Ordinary people switching from index funds en masse is usually a sign of mania, dating back to when Joe Kennedy Sr allegedly said he got out of the markets in 29 once shoeshine boys started giving stock tips.

I'm so mad at everyone in my life who told me never to pick stocks, that smarter ppl will always outcompete u. I could have been making so much money

@Gdams70 at my last vacation spot, the host added a charger to their garage in their AirBnB. the car charged while we were at the beach. sorry the future is awesome

@Unfilte90291535 @TechOperator after 6 years, i have learned that when i tell people i own a Tesla, about a third will respond with the most skeptical take they can think of
WITHOUT FAIL, EVERY SINGLE GODDAMN OBJECTION HAS BEEN OUTRIGHT FACTUALLY WRONG OR SOMETHING I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED

I drive several 300-mile round-trip journeys a year.
Let's look at a "Long Range" Tesla
320-mile range. Unless it's cold out, then you lose 30-40%
Good battery management means you stay within 10%-90% charge.
So now your 320 miles is 180 miles. But there is an accident on the way and you spend an hour in traffic running the heater. The charging station at the closest exit is expensive, slow and only two of the chargers are working. You wait your turn. Your three-hour trip has turned into 6 hours and you are looking for a hotel.
My hybrid truck has a 500 mile range. Every exit has a gas station that will get me back on the highway in ten minutes, including a pee break.
We are not the same.

@ehuna @wholemars no. my plan is to read everyone's X posts, talk to my friends, and burn three one dollar bills. that way i get the same value as this proposition

@Andrea_Milan321 @marcodzo but you don't just block ordinary toads, you block toads who SUBSCRIBE and there sure aren't an infinite number of those
ignoring would take much less time. but blocking ends the open debate that might discredit you; it's worth some valuable time to do that
English

@BarkingToad @marcodzo People don't have infinite time to reply to every single toad on the internet. It's not difficult to understand. The answers are all there in his profile, tens of receipts attached.
English

@Andrea_Milan321 @marcodzo WOW, the absolutely CLASSIC AJ complaint. "You are wasting my time." No, AJ, I mean AM, people don't waste your oh so valuable time BY ASKING THINGS. and here's the kicker:
people who ACTUALLY know things end the "time-wasting" debate by ANSWERING THE QUESTION
English

@BarkingToad @marcodzo You are wasting my time on this. And my time is not even remotely as valuable as his. His account is full of receipts, something no other account is able to provide consistently. If you don't get it, asking open ended questions won't help either.
English

@Andrea_Milan321 @marcodzo "He says he has a staff therefore i believe him"
you're a perfect AJ sub. keep paying him and good luck
English

@BarkingToad @marcodzo A he has a staff he said it multiple time
B no for the same reason he wouldn't say his name
C nope
D yes
English

@Andrea_Milan321 @marcodzo ayo, bud, every time someone asks any kind of open ended, honest question that could prove him wrong, they are PUBLICLY BLOCKED
it ends the proof and tells others not to even try!
good lord! "never been proven wrong" is a red flag - not evidence of him being some sort of savant
English

@marcodzo Kinda stupid your reasoning. He just does what he says and not once he's been proven wrong.
Not a battle you can win this one

@OhSupYall how great is take two: the car nudges over, realizes there's tape in the driveway, and decides to street park instead. excellent!

Looks like Tesla is conducting their own thin-line testing for FSD/Robotaxi in Austin. Here’s the security cam footage from my work parking lot last Saturday.
Backstory: I drove by my work last Saturday and noticed that someone had blocked our entrance using caution tape.
“Omg, we got pranked!” was my first thought. But then when checking the footage it was obvious what they were actually doing. “Chuck Cook’s thin chain test!”, I thought.
Two days later as I was leaving work I noticed caution tape directly across the street and a red Model Y doing the same thing. My nerdism forced me to pull over and yell at him. “Heey! Are you doing thin-line testing for FSD?“
He had a very shocked, deer in the headlights look, mouth half-open, “Uhhh, ummm.”
Before he said an actual word I continued, “So our driveway was blocked by caution tape the other day, but I saw the footage and thought I recognized what was going on. Been watching FSD videos since Dirty Tesla’s first ones years ago.”
He replied, “Wait, he left the caution tape up, blocking your driveway? My apologies, that shouldn’t have happened”.
I continued to try to pry, mentioning that I’ve been an investor for a while and had been to the factory a couple times. I was very very obviously excited. He was smiling the whole time and it was obvious that he couldn’t say much.
“I really do wish I could spill the beans.”, and “What’s your name again? Hey, I’m CJ, real nice to meet you and I do wish I could say more.”
The very next day I saw another black Model Y doing the same caution tape test a block away from these two locations.
