@BaronessRuth @jkbjournalist I remember my grandmother canning tomatoes. The kitchen was hotter than the sun with those big kettles of boiling water to sterilize the jars.

I was traumatized by having to shuck Jersey corn all day in my back yard. It wasn’t the shucking — it was the occasional worm I ran across stuck on the cob. My mom used to can or freeze everything over the winter. It was torture. We also had to skin tomatoes and help make pickles.

Please pray for my 17-year-old son. He was forced to unload and load the dishwasher. He used some disrespectful words so mama turned off the internet that ended up crashing the game he was in the middle of playing. He might not recover. 😬

The account of our friend @nprscottsimon has been hacked. He says: “We are working to reverse this hack, and hope that @X will help. Our account has meant a lot to people, and to us, since 2009. Please know that we’re aware, trying to work it through, and miss our many friends.”

@BrigadierBurma Yeah, well I can tell you from experience that almost all of that probably happened while they were being folded!!

@hazelflag I feel your pain. We jumped ahead a few weeks ago. Why we engage in this madness I don’t know.

Warren Beatty could do everything: write, direct, act- you name it. This guy is one of the most driven/passionate humans I’ve ever seen come through Hollywood. He wasn’t the most prolific artist, but when he focused on a project, such as Heaven Can Wait, he repeatedly made magic.

The final number in Gold Diggers of 1933, Remember My Forgotten Man, completely took me by surprise. After a film filled with humour, romance, and dazzling choreography, it suddenly shifts into something much darker and more haunting. What makes it so powerful is how directly it speaks to the realities of the Great Depression, but somehow the message still feels uncomfortably relevant today. It’s not just a finale; it’s a quiet but devastating act of remembrance: #HollywoodMusical

I don't know why, but that first Giants game had such a weird vibe to it that it just did not feel like a regular season game. It does count in the scorebook, but something was missing.
