OPTIMUM CELEBRATES A RETURN TO THE SPA 24 PODIUM WITH GOLD CUP CREW It's an incredible result to reward the monumental amount of preparation and hard-work that has gone into the last 24 hours. The No.4 Gold Cup McLaren of Harry George, Ruben del Sarte, Adam Smalley and Freddie Tomlinson crossed the finish line third in its class, having run twice-around-the-clock flawlessly - apart from a puncture in the opening laps. The last time the Wakefield-based team stood on Spa's 24-hour podium was 2023 - when they secured Gold Cup victory - also in McLaren machinery. The Silver Cup contender of Guilherme de Oliveira, Salman Owega, Mikey Porter, Dante Rappange, after taking full points at the 12-hour mark, finished best of the rest - in fourth, after a heartbreaking late drive-through penalty for the No.5 NOVEM Gold-backed McLaren. Zwitserland: 1 per 1.630 inwoners. Dat is geen democratie meer, dat is een politieke parasietenindustrie. In Zwitserland doen de meeste parlementsleden hun job als bijbaan. Ze hebben een écht beroep, betalen zelf belastingen en blijven met beide voeten in de realiteit. Geen fulltime graaiers die hun hele leven op de overheidsfles leven. In België hebben we een leger van 10.000+ betaalde mandatarissen die met z’n allen aan de staatskassa hangen. Van gemeenteraadsleden tot Europarlementsleden, allemaal met riante vergoedingen, pensioenen en extraatjes. Resultaat?
✅ Zwitserland: lage belastingen, directe democratie, politici met gezond verstand
❌ België: hoogste politieke dichtheid van Europa, torenhoge belastingen en een kloof met de burger die steeds groter wordt Dit is geen “vertegenwoordiging van het volk”.
Dit is een zelfbedieningsbuffet voor de politieke klasse. De Zwitsers hebben het begrepen: politiek moet een dienst zijn, geen carrière. In België blijven wij betalen voor deze incompetentie.
Tijd om dat systeem eens grondig te ontmantelen.
