A proud moment for BasiGo! Yesterday, we joined Kenya’s fast-growing electric mobility community for a grand EV parade across Nairobi , moving alongside players advancing electric trucks, bikes, cars, and bicycles. Covering 43Kms the parade was a showcase of what clean transport already looks like in public transit, logistics, motorcycles, personal cars, and two-wheelers. We are proud to play our part in this shift with our electric buses and charging infrastructure deployment, and we firmly believe in Kenya’s unique opportunity to build transport systems powered by clean, locally generated energy. What stood out most was the collective momentum. Different players across the industry, moving together with one shared vision: cleaner cities, quieter roads, and a more sustainable future for transport in Africa. The shift is here. And Kenya is driving it forward. Thank you @EMobilityKenya and @KenyaPower for bringing together industry players and organising this important demonstration. #EVparade2026 #SustainableTransport #ElectricMobility

"What is the range of this vehicle? Will it get stuck on the road? Is there enough charging infrastructure outside Nairobi?" These are some of the questions that often come up whenever the conversation turns to expanding electric mobility beyond Nairobi. But the narrative and the confidence is steadily changing with our Ma3e electric van built for inter-county travel. Today, our vans are already operating on routes beyond Nairobi, including Thika-Nairobi, Nyahururu–Nyeri and Nyahururu–Nakuru. We recently followed one of our electric vans operating along the Thika Superhighway route, speaking with both the driver and the operator about their experiences. Their sentiments reflect a growing shift in how operators are viewing electric transport: not as a future concept, but as a practical solution already delivering value to them and their passengers. “The maintenance cost of the vehicle to the Sacco is very minimal,” said Manchester Travellers chairman Nicodemus Gatoho. “Customers love it because it is very smooth and there is no noise. When the vehicle arrives, you find people already waiting for it, so it is profitable to the Sacco.” From lower operating costs to a quieter and more comfortable passenger experience, this testimonial is another example of how electric mobility is already proving itself on Kenyan roads. We have just completed assembling a 16-seater electric van locally in partnership with Associated Vehicle Assemblers (AVA) in Mombasa! The electric van arrived as completely knocked down (CKD) parts and was assembled within just seven days by the BasiGo and AVA teams. This milestone illustrates growing local assembly capability as work continues on the remaining units scheduled for customer delivery. The Ma3e offers a range of up to 300 km (NEDC) and is designed to support a wide range of transport needs, including public transport, school shuttles, corporate staff transport, airport transfers, and hotel shuttle services. This is another important step in advancing local manufacturing and accelerating the adoption of electric mobility across the country. Our commitment to deploy 1,000 electric vehicles continues to take shape one unit at a time. #Roadto1000 #EVLocalAssembly #MA3e

Our Co-founder and CEO, Jit Bhattacharya, was recently featured in the Pan-African Visions magazine. In the interview, Jit shares insights on why Africa’s transition to electric mobility goes beyond transport, touching on energy independence, saving on operating costs, and the expanding charging infrastructure. He also breaks down how BasiGo is translating this vision into action by leveraging Kenya’s renewable energy advantage while scaling electric vehicle adoption across Kenya and Rwanda. Earth Day is a reminder of the beauty and resilience of our planet, and the responsibility we all share to protect it. It is a moment to reflect on the future we are building, and the one we will leave behind. Across Africa, cities are growing rapidly. The continent is expected to have 10 megacities within the next 20 years! With that growth comes rising pressure from congestion, pollution, and emissions, accelerating to catastrophic climate change. Public transport sits at the center of this challenge. As cities expand, the way people and goods move becomes one of the key drivers of urban emissions and air pollution. At BasiGo, this is not something we reflect on once a year. It is the work we do every day. Because the choices we make about transport today will shape the cities of tomorrow. Cleaner air means healthier cities. Quieter streets mean more livable neighborhoods. Sustainable growth means cities that work for everyone. With each electric bus and Ma3e we deploy, powered by renewable energy, we are taking a step toward that future, one where low-carbon public transport works for both people and the planet. This Earth Day, we are reminded that progress is not defined by intention, but by action. Commitments matter only insofar as they translate into the work we do. The future we want is one we must build together, every day. #EveryDayIsEarthDay #Emobility #ClimateChange

BasiGo Named a BloombergNEF 2026 Pioneers Winner! We are honored to be recognized as a Winner in the BloombergNEF 2026 Pioneers competition, spotlighting startups accelerating the global energy transition through technological innovation. While this year, BloombergNEF chose winners addressing three key challenges; technologies for sustainable, scalable data center infrastructure, flattening the duck curve, and decarbonizing shipping and heavy-duty transport , BasiGo was selected in the Wildcard category, recognizing innovations that defy convention and push boundaries. That is exactly what we are doing: proving that Africa can lead the world in affordable, low-carbon public transport. This recognition belongs to our entire team, investors, partners, and communities who believe that clean transport is not just possible, it is essential. A huge thank you to BloombergNEF for this honor and for spotlighting the critical role African innovation plays in the global energy transition. Congratulations to the other 2026 Pioneers; it's an honor to be counted among you. View the 2026 Pioneers: bloom.bg/4dSu1OV #BloombergNEF #BNEFPioneers #Emobility #Roadto1000
