Director Jeff Nichols wrote the script for Mud (2012) specifically for Matthew McConaughey without ever meeting him. He pitched the movie at the actor's house where they drank vodka for hours before McConaughey agreed to the role.

John Constantine could easily appear in the Swamp Thing #DCU movie, as the character started in Swamp Thing before getting his own Hellblazer comic. Matt Ryan is to John Constantine what Hugh Jackson is to Wolverine. screenrant.com/arrowverse-mat…

@frank_oconnor @anoisagency @judesherry .@MHealyRae I'll say this after visiting Kenmare and experiencing the journey to Kenmare. The Healy Rae's are protecting Kerry from mass housing. Because it's all green and beautiful and full of life. However a lot of homes in Kenmare are @Airbnb and they have key boxes

@Tree_Folklore The way to get the seeds is so simple. I hope people plant them seeds in grass.

Before they were ordained as weeds somewhere in recent history Dandelions were very much appreciated 🌼💛 When a child goes out to collect Dandelions during the first blooms of Spring, the tallest Dandelion that they find will indicate how much taller that the child will grow during the coming year ✨ They are a visually stunning flower and nutritious super food that bees and other pollinating insects rely upon due to their tenacity in resisting our efforts to clear them whilst other wildflowers succumb to "tidy" 🐝💪🏻

If you’re from Appalachia, you already know this color. That orange creek under a backroad bridge. The one that looks like rust bleeding through the water. Most people chalk it up to runoff. Clay. Just how the land looks… but grandfather told me it’s not. A lot of that traces back to old coal seams… places where the ground was cut open and rock that had been sealed for millions of years got exposed. That rock carries pyrite. Iron and sulfur locked together. Once it hits air and rain, it starts a chain reaction. Forms acid. That acid pulls iron out of the surrounding stone and carries it into the water. When it meets oxygen, it drops out and coats everything that deep orange. That color isn’t sitting on top. It’s forming in real time. You’ll see it across parts of Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Ohio… in cuts along the road, in small tributaries, in creeks that don’t look like much until you slow down. Some of those mines shut down generations ago. But water still moves through them. So the reaction never really stops. In the worst stretches, the water turns acidic enough to strip out most fish and insects. Other places hold on at the edges… life working around it, not with it. There are fixes now. Lime dosing to neutralize the acid. Constructed wetlands that settle the iron out. Some streams have come back. A lot still run like that. It’s easy to miss if you don’t know what you’re looking at. But once you do, you start seeing it everywhere. Not just a color. A record of what was opened and what never fully closed.

The government secretly spent €1.8 million in public money on private investigators to dig up dirt on people who had taken legal cases against them. The work was done on behalf of the State Claims Agency, the body that handles personal injury and property damage claims against public bodies. The SCA shelled out €388.58 million in damages in 2024 alone, covering everything from clinical negligence to road collisions to psychological harm. Between 2021 and February 2026, some 893 payments were made to 19 named investigators. The top earner, Abbey Investigations, pocketed over €400,000. Premier Insurance & Legal Services and Spotlight Investigations shared another €620,000 or so between them. At the other end of the scale, Confidential Investigations Athlone received the princely sum of €170. The official line is that the investigators were used to locate witnesses rather than to spy on claimants. Maybe the money was well spent to protect the state from being milked of taxpayers money?

@gloefflmann I don't class the last film as a bond film. I class it has a nostalgia film. It has scenes from old bond movies in it. Which is a tribute and nostalgia.

Are you on Crack? Quantum of Solace was an absolute train wreck of a movie and Spectre was an overlong, dull snore fest. There were only two genuinely good ones, Casino Royale and Skyfall.
Cinema Tweets@CinemaTweets1

Daniel Craig is the best James Bond ever. Enough time has passed. Sean Connery is second, but don’t get too nostalgic: all of Craig’s Bond films were hits, some more than others, but Craig never made a bad Bond film. That includes Skyfall- the best James Bond film ever made.
