📢 We have received the documents from the shipment of pregnant dairy heifers and bulls to Algeria in January and they made a shocking read: ❌5 deaths from pneumonia ❌1 dead pregnant heifer – cause unknown ❌1 euthanasia - due to splits ❌11 premature births – 2 stillborn ❌Humidity 91% (way above healthy levels) ❌Ammonia levels 24 ppm (way above healthy levels) ❌ 24 incidents of illness/injury (16 pneumonia/6 lameness) This was just in 5 days! Either there is something very wrong with this vessel, the Alondra, or the DAFM vet did a very bad job of checking fitness for transport. The poor animal that did the splits - the pens have a thin layer of sawdust that soon becomes soiled and slippery. The pain and suffering must have been horrendous. It's not clear whether it was a bull or pregnant heifer. Thank goodness there was a vet on board at least - that is very rare. 🚢 There was also engine failure shortly after leaving Waterford and the vessel had to return to the port, delaying the journey by 2 days. The Alondra is currently at Foynes Port for another shipment, it should not be allowed to go ahead. Yet more evidence that these journeys cause harm and suffering 🐮 #stopliveexport #ireland #animalcruelty

Daniel Craig is the best James Bond ever. Enough time has passed. Sean Connery is second, but don’t get too nostalgic: all of Craig’s Bond films were hits, some more than others, but Craig never made a bad Bond film. That includes Skyfall- the best James Bond film ever made.

Switzerland is putting solar panels on their train tracks, turning their train system into a huge power plant. If the US did this, we'd generate enough clean, American-made energy to power about 8 million homes.
