Pakistan has tied itself to Saudia in this matter. For as long as they withstand pressure Pakistan will be able to keep the balancing act with the Trump administration. Giving in to that demand would mean public backlash, goes against the core ideology. I grudgingly give credit to the folks who have been in charge of Pakistan’s strategic decisions, they play well.

Economics is not my subject :) so excuse my ignorance but I want to take a guess nonetheless, based on observing recent years exports are probably a little more during democracy so purple-dictatorship and yellow democracy. Defence expenditure never goes down, the unfortunate consequence of its “geopolitically strategic location” and the people always matter the least so sub par funding for health and education.

Absolute bombshell. Prominent journalist Glenn Greenwald completely turns the tables on a war hawk. He exposes that the people running Israel are actual religious and political fanatics. The Zionist regime is fighting an unethical cosmic war, dragging America into chaos!
Furkan Gözükara@FurkanGozukara

Absolute masterclass. Top journalist Glenn Greenwald completely humiliates a Trump supporter cheering for the Iran war. When asked if he will enlist to fight, he instantly backtracks. He exposes how Washington brainwashes citizens to blindly cheer for endless wars.

🚨 A United Geopolitical Front | Riyadh and Islamabad Reject the Logic of U.S. Bargaining In a move that goes beyond mere rejection to dismantle the very foundation of this maneuver, a strategic alignment emerges between Riyadh and Islamabad, putting an end to the "comprehensive deal" logic that attempts to link regional de-escalation to the imposition of piecemeal political conditions. The Saudi stance will remain steadfast 🇸🇦 (via CNN): The Kingdom left no room for interpretation, reaffirming its unwavering position that "there will be no normalization without an irreversible path toward the establishment of a Palestinian state." This message underscores that Riyadh's weight is not a bargaining chip, and that the rights of the Palestinian people and the principles of the Islamic nation are a red line that cannot be compromised. Pakistan's Independent Decision-Making 🇵🇰 (via Reuters): Islamabad's response was decisive and primarily focused on security: "Pakistan is not bound to comply, and the ceasefire and de-escalation efforts with Iran are not linked to the Abraham Accords and cannot be linked to them." This convergence of views proves that sustainable security and stability in the Middle East are not built on temporary truce deals or the postponement of crises, but rather on respect for the legitimate and inalienable rights of states and peoples. Palestine remains the core of stability, and anyone who thinks they can make peace by bypassing it is deluding themselves.

⭕️ Pakistan Statement or Formal Agreement Q: Could Pakistan issue a statement without endorsement from both parties? A: The focus should be on the negotiations and the document to be signed. There is a plan being followed. If official visits become necessary, they will happen at the right time. As of now, there is no plan for an official visit to Pakistan or vice versa. ⸻ ⭕️ Israel Trying to Sabotage Talks Q: Could Israel or other parties undermine the negotiations? A: The Zionist entity is doing everything it can to undermine the agreement. Iran expects Israel may take action to torpedo the negotiations. Nothing is ruled out. There are voices in the U.S., among Republicans, Democrats, Zionists, and other third parties, advocating war and aggression. Their goal is to keep the U.S. trapped in endless wars. ⸻ ⭕️ Iran-Oman Talks on Hormuz Q: Is the Strait of Hormuz issue linked to talks with Oman? A: Yes. Iran and Oman both overlook the Strait and therefore carry special responsibility. Iran must consider its national security while also taking international concerns into account. Iran and Oman are working on a lawful mechanism to restore confidence and ensure safe passage through the Strait. The foreign minister’s message to Muscat falls within this context. ⸻ ⭕️ Sumud Flotilla Activists Q: Were European responses sufficient after reports of torture and abuse of Sumud Flotilla activists? A: The world saw how Israel dealt with the Freedom Flotilla, including torture, harassment, and force. Some European and other countries condemned it, but words are not enough. If European countries truly want to act, they must take concrete steps under international law and human rights law to hold the Zionist entity and its officials accountable. ⸻ ⭕️ Lebanon and Final Ceasefire Q: Will Lebanon be part of the final ceasefire agreement? A: Yes. A ceasefire means a ceasefire on all fronts. Lebanon is part and parcel of the negotiations and agreement. Regional countries are working to avoid escalation and reach a final agreement. Turkey’s efforts are appreciated. ⸻ ⭕️ Tolls or Fees in the Strait of Hormuz Q: Will Iran collect tolls or fees for passage through the Strait? A: Iran is not imposing taxes and does not wish to collect tolls. Iran and Oman are working on a protocol to ensure safe passage. Services related to navigation, maritime movement, and environmental protection carry expenses, but these should not be described as tolls or fees. ⸻ ⭕️ Foreign Management of Hormuz Q: Will countries other than Iran and Oman be part of managing the Strait? A: No. Iran and Oman are the coastal countries overlooking the Strait. In line with international law, they are responsible for ensuring safe traffic. Other countries may be consulted, and many have welcomed this approach, but the final formula must be reached by Iran and Oman. —— ⭕️ Iranian National Team and World Cup Q: What is Iran doing to prevent obstacles to its national team’s World Cup participation? A: Iran is dealing with FIFA. The Iranian national team’s only purpose in visiting the U.S. is to participate in the tournament. The U.S., as host country, is obligated to provide the necessary conditions. Coordination has been established with FIFA and the Mexican Football Federation to avoid problems for the team.

🇮🇷 *Iran Foreign Ministry Briefing: Q&A with Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran Esmaeil Baghaei: ⭕️ U.S. Commitments Q: Is there any assurance the U.S. president will honor his commitments? A: No. There is no assurance the U.S. president will honor his commitments. The only assurance is our military capabilities. ⸻ ⭕️ Responding to U.S. Media Reports Q: Why is Iran not responding to U.S. media reports and Trump’s posts? A: We have more important work to do than respond to the U.S. president’s posts, malicious media campaigns, or caricatures on social media. We are working to reach the best solutions to safeguard our country’s interests. We do not respond to every comment. We are a cultured, educated, and developed people. But we also respond to enemy aggression accordingly, as we have in the past. ⸻ ⭕️ Ceasefire on All Fronts Q: Is ending hostile action on all fronts, including Lebanon, part of the agreement? A: Yes. ⸻ ⭕️ Progress in U.S.-Iran Negotiations Q: Washington says negotiations have made progress. Is there tangible progress? A: Recent developments are the result of weeks of negotiations and mediation efforts, led by Pakistan and supported by other actors. Most issues on the table have been agreed upon. But no party can claim that the final agreement is confirmed or ready to be signed. The United States has a record of changing its position at the last minute. Its actions on the ground often contradict its official statements. Iran has proven its capability on the battlefield and at the strategic level. We will continue to preserve our capabilities and national interests. ⸻ ⭕️ Trump, Gulf States, and Abraham Accords Q: How does Iran view Trump pressuring Gulf countries to sign onto the Abraham Accords as part of a broader deal? A: The root of insecurity and instability in the region is Israel. The United States is not concerned with the stability, security, or development of regional countries. Its priority is protecting the Zionist entity. Normalization cannot grant legitimacy to an illegitimate entity, especially one that has committed genocide and violated international law. The U.S. is trying to legitimize an unlawful entity and divert attention from its crimes. ⸻ ⭕️ Strait of Hormuz Q: Is there an initial agreement on reopening the Strait of Hormuz, and will U.S. forces have any role there? A: Iran has no concern about this issue. The Iranian army and people have proven their capabilities. There are no specific details yet on the management of the Strait. That matter belongs to the countries overlooking it, especially Iran and Oman. Iran is in constant communication with those countries and has a strategy to provide security and stability while protecting the interests of relevant stakeholders. ⸻ ⭕️ European Pressure and Sanctions Q: Europe has taken sanctions-related measures to pressure Iran to reopen the Strait. How does Iran respond? A: Any hostile act against Iran will be met with a response. These are unlawful measures. No country can be expected to remain silent in the face of unlawful action. Iran will not. Before the aggression against Iran, the Strait of Hormuz was open. Today it is closed not because of Iran, but because of aggression initiated by the Zionist entity and the United States. ⸻ ⭕️ Qatar’s Role Q: Is Qatar involved in the mediation? A: Qatar’s national security chief visited Tehran as part of efforts to support mediation. The official mediator between Iran and the United States is Pakistan, but other countries are playing positive roles to help reach diplomatic solutions. ⸻ Continues below ⬇️ ——

The fear of the revolution being exported and threatening their rules was more of a perceived threat (disproportionately hyped by propoganda machine) than the actual infiltration. A rational approach aimed at forming regional alliances has been sadly lacking to date. I agree Iran’s ideology was/is clear, it is aimed at making Muslim world independent of western imperial rule and many monarchs/dictators and governments of the region were essentially seen as puppets and later provided evidence of it. The sectarian violence and crackdown launched on their Shiite population however, (saw it in Bahrain most recently) didn’t help. Solution still lies in dialogue and reconciliation.

@BatulAtiqa @SHABAZGIL @MehlaqaCAPJ The point here is that Gill misled him and the other party cadre into thinking that Trump would rescue him once he came to power. Infact I asked Gill that very question personally at one point barely few weeks before the US general elections and he said the same.

As I’ve said previously re Pakistan, the more you work with Trump, the greater the risk you’ll be asked to do something you don’t want to do-like join the Abraham Accords. An occupational hazard of being in his good graces. An awkward ask of Pak, but it shouldn’t be surprised.

@StateDept_NEA So the idea is that Israeli troops have a right to be left alone as they illegally militarily occupy huge portions of Lebanon? Military opposition to the Israeli occupation is the cause of destabilization, not the Israeli invasion and occupation itself?

The Pakistani-American diaspora is not monolithic-- not everyone thought Trump would be our savior. Glad to have said so on the record to @zeteo_news on behalf of @Alliance4PJ "Mehlaqa Samdani, the executive director of the Community Alliance for Peace and Justice – which works to improve U.S. foreign policy towards Pakistan and Palestine – called the Trump endorsement “pathetic” and “horrible.” “This whole Trump endorsement made [a] laughing stock out of this entire diaspora movement,” she told Zeteo. Samdani pointed out that the Pakistani diaspora is, of course, not a monolith, and that there were groups like hers who were “vehemently against voting for Trump,” and were trying to get other groups to not support him, arguing he hadn’t guaranteed anything, that he couldn’t be trusted, and that an endorsement would be “throwing Muslim Americans under the bus” given his blatant Islamophobia seen in his first term." zeteo.com/p/pakistan-tru…
