@BazarJosh @SawyerMerritt ICE vehicles have BEEN paying and are currently paying GAS AND DIESEL TAX. Which EVs dont pay. Those pay for the roads. Want to use our roads, you should have to pay into that system as well.

U.S. House lawmakers have proposed ​bipartisan legislation that ‌would require electric vehicles to pay ​a $130 fee ​to pay for road ⁠repairs annually ​and $35 for some ​plug-in hybrid models. The House is working on a ​five-year highway reauthorization bill expected to ‌cost ⁠more than $500 billion ahead of the current law ​expiration on ​Sept ⁠30, 2026. Most revenue for ​federally funded ​road ⁠repairs is collected through diesel and ⁠gasoline ​taxes, ​which EVs do not pay. I think $130 is fair since over time there will be fewer gas vehicles on the road generating tax revenue, They'll need to make up the difference somewhere so they can keep repairing roads, etc. Full bill text in thread below:

@Drizzt3124 @SawyerMerritt I drive about half as much as you do annually. Any tax (state or federal) should scale with usage, just like the gas tax.

Mine does too (Ohio) on EVs. Except they are already paying gas taxes which you are not. So you aren't being taxed any more than they are. Depending on how much you drive you may or may not pay more. I drive 30k miles a year so if I assume a 30mpg gas car equivalent, probably high) I'm using 1000 gallons per year. Ohio gas tax would cost me $385 and Federal would be $184. So I'm still paying less. And those figure are likely higher because I'd most likely have a car that got somewhere in the 25ish mpg range. Not too mention gas without taxes is still ALOT cheaper than electricity. So I'll still take my 2025 model 3 any day and twice on Sunday over an ICE.

Hard to say for sure, but production of the $59K AWD @Cybertruck may be just getting started here on this early and soggy morning at Giga Texas … this version is much harder to visually distinguish from the premium AWD versions, so I’ll come back on Wednesday and we’ll see if this is in fact happening. I hope so as there are many new Cybertruck owners eager to get their truck! Cybercab production is also proceeding slowly as @Tesla told us it would be early on, but there are still dozens of new Cybercabs in the outbound lot today. I hope we start seeing more of these soon & perhaps introduction into the @robotaxi fleet soon. I (along with many others) want to give them a try!

my parents bought a tesla model 3 and there's nothing else like it. the most astonishing capability is self-driving. their tesla can drive them from their driveway to their destination, including parking in a busy parking lot, without disengaging once. comparing Tesla's self-driving to other automakers is like comparing an iPhone 17 to one of those grey brick phones from the 80s. it's kind of embarrassing. a week before they bought the tesla, my dad told me he didn't think he'd be driving much longer since he's pretty old. the tesla just extended his independence by years. feeling grateful for all tesla has done.

I have Claude Code fully integrated into my smart glasses Everywhere I go I am now vibe coding When you are talking to me in real life, I am not paying attention to you. I am nodding, but I have no idea what you are saying. That's because I am silently shipping. I am watching the green lines of the terminal scroll by at all times. I am silently giving commands to my glasses on what to build next. I am reaching record levels of LOC shipped. There are multiple lakes in Michigan that no longer have water in it because of me I am using up my Claude plan faster than anyone else on earth. Nobody can match my velocity. If you are building a competing product, it is over. Give up. Unless you have Claude Code being projected into your cornea at all hours of the day, you simply have no shot. GGs.

@discord_support - How long does it typically take for a support ticket to be actioned? I was logged out on all my devices and now when I try to log back in, I'm getting a "POST /auth/mfa/totp [400]" error when attempting to enter in my authenticator code, and when I try to verify using a text to my phone number instead, I get a "404: Not Found" error. I submitted a ticket but I haven't heard back.
