This is Chase. He operates robots for Neuralink. He did the robot for my Neuralink implantation surgery. He had a first date that he had to postpone because of my surgery. She thought he was a flake. He couldn’t tell her about the surgery because it was a secret. They went on a date the next day. They are still together. If they get married, I think I deserve a lot of credit! He now mixes up their anniversary and my surgery! Maybe he is a flake after all. People at Neuralink are awesome!

Next week is my 45th birthday. I did not think I would live this long, when I was diagnosed with ALS at age 37. But I am happy to be alive! To celebrate my birthday, I will be taking my family on a road trip to Austin, Texas! We are going to visit Tesla and Neuralink! I might even go to Starbase! It is expensive to travel as a quadriplegic! If you want to chip in for hotel, food, gas, or anything else, please send me a Venmo @ALScyborg or DM me! venmo.com/ALScyborg

Noland Arbaugh : "I can control a computer with my thoughts" 🧠 He is the first human Neuralink patient, shares his incredible journey from playing video games for hours to earning a 4.0 GPA in college - all powered by a brain-chip implant By reconnecting with the world through social media, starting a business, and returning to school, he’s showing that the future of human capability isn’t just science fiction and Neuralink is leading that shift

Brazilian researchers at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) have achieved a major milestone in regenerative medicine: after more than 25 years of research, polylaminin a polymerized form of the natural protein laminin, has received approval from Anvisa for Phase 1 clinical trials in humans with acute, complete spinal cord injuries. Initial human trials (including phase 1 safety studies approved in early 2026) are yielding encouraging early outcomes: some individuals with severe spinal cord injuries have shown partial return of voluntary movement, improved motor control, and basic functions previously thought permanently lost. What medical science long considered irreversible is starting to shift toward possible recovery. The approach leverages a polymerized form of laminin (a natural protein) to promote axon regrowth, bridge injury sites, reduce inflammation, and support neural reconnection essentially kickstarting the body's own repair processes while safeguarding remaining nerve cells. For years, spinal cord injuries meant lifelong symptom management with little hope of restoring function. This therapy challenges that reality, potentially opening doors for millions affected by paralysis around the globe. Reports from the studies highlight notable gains in mobility, coordination, and muscle strength in early phases. Experts stress that these results while exciting and historic remain PRELIMINARY. Larger trials are essential to confirm long-term safety, efficacy, and scalability. Even so, this milestone from Brazil's dedicated teams represents a pivotal moment in neuroscience, edging the vision of meaningful recovery for spinal cord injury patients closer to reality than ever before.
