Why do we still have paper vehicle registrations and tag stickers? The cops look it up in real-time from the license plate. They know if the registration is valid before they step out of the cruiser.

@threenotes_jp I like them a lot honestly. Even went as far to visit Sagamihara last time I was in Japan to try the vintage ones, it was a lot of fun. Some TV station interviewed me about it, but I have no idea if it ever aired.

@lalalalack I feel the same. I can read things on ereaders, but I don't retain the content. Paper books are just better for that. I think it's similar to how I remember things I wrote by hand better than things I typed.

@BeardOps @Crime_Penguin I loved CompUSA. I almost bought a boxed copy of Gentoo there when I was 12. The computer I wanted to install it on had no network connection so it was probably good I didn't. Microcenter is still clinging to life in a few places but it's not the same.

If Pizza Hut can return, then we can resurrect Blockbuster. And we should. While Netflix made things more “convenient” we lost something irreplaceable: The ritual of going to a place with your family or friends to choose a story together. That experience was special.
