The current Giannis situation is a bit of a historic anomaly. Only a handful of MVP caliber players have become publicly available in the past 25 years, and almost all of them have been in the heart of their prime age. AD was 25. Kawhi was 26. Chris Paul was 26. TMac was 25. Giannis just turned 31 years old, leaving him with only two comparisons: Shaq in '04, and Harden in '20. Shaq had clearly started to trend downward, even if he was still an elite big, but Harden was still in the heart of his prime and coming off arguably his best season ever, along with having a long history in Houston. That's pretty similar to Giannis in Milwaukee, and I'd imagine they'll prioritize getting him to a contender or preferred destination. That Harden trade was a massive 4-team deal, and the return for Houston was salary matched players, three unprotected first round picks, another first from Milwaukee, and 4 pick swaps. It'll be interesting to see if Giannis gets a similar return, and which teams would be willing to pull the trigger.

@ericadamsfornyc Don't worry. All the sliwa voters know to vote Cuomo. It's vote for a chance or waste your vote (sliwa) even if you like sliwa more than cuomo

Dear NO term Mayor. If being a one-term Mayor is the price of saving New York, I’ll pay it. I love this city too much to let a reckless socialist wreck it. You’re not winning, you know that. Everyone around you knows that. But you’ll always be remembered as the one who gave our city away to socialism. The rest of your tweet is a distraction, and everyone knows that I don’t do distractions.

One term mayor Eric Adams, the snake and liar’s lap dog, suddenly found his voice. Cute. If he wasn’t a failed, scandal ridden mayor we wouldn’t even have Mamdani in this race. Now his handlers have him shilling for Cuomo to boost Mamdani. Pathetic. When Cuomo loses, maybe Eric can crash at his Hamptons mansion, and for New York’s sake, hopefully we never see either of them again.

Ticketmaster and @DanWallLN want to clean up ticketing? Maybe they can start in house. This show went on sale today with a ticket limit of 6 tickets. Yet here are 2 listings, one of 10 tickets and another of 12 tickets that are wheelchair accessible seating that are listed directly on @Ticketmaster resale platform. Ticketmaster knows exactly who is listing this tickets, they should not only not allow this, they should ban this seller. But they won’t because they will profit greatly from the ticket fees.

I don’t think this a bad idea per se, it’s just being executed poorly. Instead of marketing it as a price increase for resellers, give fans that actually use their tickets, say six or more games, a credit towards next year’s tickets, F&B credits, and/or some other unique gift or value add. Reward loyal fans that show up and keep them in the pipeline.

.@chargers will be charging 15% more if you’re a ticket reseller in 2026 for season tickets. Resellers remain under siege. 🤦‍♂️ @NFL executives are truly making very off business decisions. I am truly shocked.

We estimate @ufc @TKOGrp lost nearly $500k in 🎟️ gate revenue for #UFC319 with poorly released drops yesterday afternoon. This is about half of a marker @danawhite takes out at a Vegas casino on any given nignt.

The best parenting lesson I ever received was from a single interaction with my dad when I was 12. I had tried out for this baseball all star team. The results came out and the coaches called to say they were taking 16 players and I was the 17th on the list. I didn't make it. I remember being devastated. It was my first real experience with a failure. My dad walked into my room and sat down next to me. He said: "I know you're upset. I understand. It sucks. But here are the three things the coaches said you needed to work on. Let's go out every day this summer and work on them together." We did. He took me out to the local field damn near every single day that summer. I came back the next year and was a completely different player. Years later, when I got a scholarship to play in college, I still thought back to that summer as the turning point. It took me having my own son to realize the powerful parenting lesson in all of this. My dad had two options in that moment: 1. Tell me the coaches were idiots. They were wrong. They had made a mistake. I was the best player. 2. Acknowledge my disappointment. Reframe it as a growth opportunity. Support me to go after it. It would have been easier to choose Option 1. Honestly, I would have been happier to hear it in the moment. But it would have had a lasting negative impact on my life. You see, there's a big difference between what I wanted and what I needed. Option 2 was the latter. The tough pill. The right pill. My dad subtly reframed that failure as an opportunity. Then he showed up to help me capitalize on it. I'll never forget that. And by the way, my dad still shows up for me in that same way. He sat in the front row of my book tour events, diligently taking notes to help me prepare and improve. I guess some things never change.

“Taking care of my fans” is an interesting way to frame it” Why did @taylorswift13 have restrictive ticketing practices that led to record amounts of fraud and broken orders on her last tour? Turning on @Ticketmaster + isn’t an endorsement of resale. It’s enabling protection for fans until a better solution. @NathanCHubbard you should know this better than anyone as a former CEO of @Ticketmaster! #Rival

There is no L train service between Bedford Av and 8 Av while we investigate why a train's brakes activated at 14 St-Union Sq. For alternate service between Manhattan and Brooklyn, consider A/C/J/M/3 trains or M14A/D-SBS and B39 buses.
