I'm very proud to be an American, but I also understand the larger picture of humanity. Whether it's our "job" or not, if we have the ability to create a better world for all people, why wouldn't we? Yes, we should ensure our country is strong and prosperous first and foremost...but our "world" is not confined only to our borders. "When you stand before God, you cannot say, "But I was told by others to do thus." Or that, "Virtue was not convenient at the time." This will not suffice."

I do not believe in "shaping a better world." That is not the job of the United States.
