So, when he has stinkers in the offensive end like he did in game 1 and game 3, he’s a liability.

By doing this he's trying to both draw contact while creating space for the eventual shot on his drive.

Throwing multiple bodies at Shai sounds like murder for a team that lacks defensive talent, but it could be a viable option for a high-caliber athletic defensive unit who can recover and rotate well.
