Curious why I don’t see any Laker fans listing Ayo as a target. Yall do realize he’s a UFA right?

@24Dparks @LeGunna_Doncic If the Lakers can get him for 20m, I’d go for it. However, it’s hard to imagine Minnesota letting him walk for that when it doesn’t put them over the 2nd apron or anything.

@smmarsh1 @LeGunna_Doncic Naz will be making $24m next season. Ant is making pretty much 50. Jmac is making 26. Gobert at 36.5. Randle at 33. That’s basically 170m to their top 5 guys. Unless they move someone I don’t imagine they have the stomach to pay another dude 20m

@pelinkaburner And we can offer the room exception (9.5 mil). A lot of contenders don’t have the non tax payer MLE (15 mil) because they’ll be over the tax

If he took that type of pay-cut here, we'd be able to throw a legit offer sheet at someone like Watson(or absorb Dort) and still have both cap space, the Room MLE, and picks/salary to upgrade Literally makes no sense which is why I think it's all media clickbait bs
Coach Rome@Rome_Beast

if he’s willing to take a discount for another team why would he not be willing to take one for the lakers given the history / chemistry / and flexibility the team has ? it would actually make more sense for him to take a discount w/ the lakers so they can build a better team

People mention that the FA pool isnt deep but taking contracts back is another way to use the cap space. Taking on Wiggins to help relieve OKC for cap relief as they are currently projected to be a 2nd apron team. 17 for 25 while taking him back also?
NBARetweet@RTNBA

Aaron Wiggins would have a much bigger role on the Lakers per @BannedMacMahon 👀 “Aaron Wiggins barely played in this series. He would play 25 minutes for the Lakers. That’s not me guessing. I asked somebody on the Lakers staff how many minutes he would play and they said at least 25.”

@24Dparks Cap space? How much? I don’t remember them having cap space 2 offseasons ago, unless you’re saying they should have let LeBron walk.

My excitement about the offseason is pretty subdued cuz we’ve hear Pelinka talk about what the lakers need and it’s been largely the same for the past 3yrs and he’s failed to do anything about it. Couple years ago the lakers had 3 1sts and some capspace and not much came from it. They are always talking about how the next offseason will be huge for the franchise.

@24Dparks I wasn’t expecting much last offseason. They have cap space and 3 1sts plus pick swaps they can trade this offseason. If he can’t improve the roster with that, his days should be numbered.

Like I mean honestly Pelinka talked about perimeter speed and athleticism being a need last offseason and added Laravia/Smart/ayton. This man’s promises and goals are to be taken with a grain of salt

@LakerCentral365 If he wants to leave and contend next year, he’s going to have to take a huge pay cut. He’d take a pay cut for another team, but not for the Lakers to add pieces to win?

I don’t think they care. If they did they would have offered an extension. I do think they want him to come back for both on court and off court reasons but the number must be right. If it isn’t they just use the cap space to add 2-3 guys that fit Luka’s needs and timeline.

Some of these rappers are lucky they exist in this era where the most mediocre bars are celebrated like Bible passages. They rely on folks who can't even spell the word metafor to praise the most basic shit.

@smmarsh1 @DamienPetersNBA @LakerCj He also had several turnovers that OKC capitalized on and was a cone on defense; he constantly gave up buckets to his assignment or forced teammates to help, leaving their guy open. So, when he has stinkers in the offensive end like he did in game 1 and game 3, he’s a liability.

The Lakers will max-out Austin Reaves (or close to it). In my humble opinion I don’t think they should.

@KamBrothers Yep. When your strategy is get the stars and surround them with functional pieces, you need to hit on those functional pieces in the draft. They went 0-2 with top 20 picks.

I asked Rob why, given how rising contenders like OKC, SAS, DET were built via the draft w/cost-controlled young players and a longer runway, he's confident the Lakers' "Win Now" approach remains viable in today's NBA. His response was unexpected, revealing, and interesting. AK

@SER1897 They did the same in Maine with Mills, but I’m sure they’ll now rally behind Platner. If they really fear El-Sayed getting the nomination, maybe putting their muscle behind McMorrow is the way to go. If not, they’ll be rallying around El-Sayed in the general
