@Maks_NAFO_FELLA Most Americans don’t trust Putin. They definitely wouldn’t travel there like they do Europe. I think they really don’t understand Ukraine and much Ukrainians and Russians are different.

🇺🇸🇺🇦👀 We must admit that some Americans believe that for us the price of peace is not so high - to leave our territories, - Zelensky "They do not want to admit that Putin will lie to them and continue the occupation even after such steps. I think this is the biggest problem: we do not trust Putin, but they do."

There are a lot of bad actors on the political scene, in both parties, but @SpeakerJohnson deserves special criticism. It's hard to think of a person who has so completely abdicated a crucial role, while spewing constant, corrosive, untruths.

@NOELreports What is there to secure if Iran has rights to apply tolls? Confront Trump with truth. He just wants to let Europe carry the endless war on its back .

I wonder what MAGA would say if the Obama Iran deal let them charge tolls to the tune of $90 billion a year on a waterway they don’t own? I mean we all know but still…. Worth asking. @FoxNews went crazy when he wore a tan suit

@ZelenskyyUa 💯 it’s a ridiculous and laughable ask by Russia and US ( who are partners thinking they can get weak Ukraine to give in). Russia will always want more.

We cannot simply speak about withdrawing from Donbas as a matter of compromise. Our withdrawal from Donbas would open up opportunities for the Russian Federation to occupy our most fortified territories without losses. Some people say it would take a year to a year and a half to build new fortifications. But everyone forgets: first and foremost, that is a year and a half. And even if it were less, fortifications in an open field are a completely different matter from those in urban areas. They can never provide equally strong protection. A withdrawal would give the Russian Federation room for large-scale maneuver. They could advance either toward Kharkiv or toward Dnipro, destroying our cities. And two major cities would be at risk – cities that, incidentally, generate a significant share of our GDP. So many people have died there… The morale of our army would certainly decline. There would undoubtedly be a rift in society. The army – which would surely not support such steps – on one side, and society on the other. And division within society is precisely what Putin is aiming for. Moreover, there are currently 200,000 people living in the territories of Donbas that we are defending. Withdrawal does not mean preserving anything. You leave, and without any guarantees, you risk losing everything. And that is a major risk. From an interview with Rai Radio 1 (2/3).

@igorsushko @garside_geoff So if Baltics or Poland start a fight with Russia, is the US obliged to help them when Russia counter attacks?

@garside_geoff This isn't about any obligations. Any European country could've unilaterally chosen to help the United States. Or did Europeans cede their sovereignty to this imaginary NATO, that's been dead for over a year? Ukraine *immediately* sent help to the Middle East to protect US bases.

You can whine and complain all you want, but this statement is completely true. The US has been the security guarantor of Europe. When the US asked Europe to help in a war against Islamists intent on developing nukes to destroy all non-Muslims in the world, Europe refused.

This morning, I asked President Trump if he’s okay with the Iranians charging a toll for all ships that go through the Strait of Hormuz, he told me there may be a Joint US-Iran venture to charge tolls: “We’re thinking of doing it as a joint venture. It’s a way of securing it — also securing it from lots of other people.” “It’s a beautiful thing”

@mehdirhasan You also forget that the longer the strait is closed, the longer oil prices remain high. Ukraine desperately needs low prices. Higher oil prices tremendously high Russia fund their brutal attacks on Ukraine and its people.

It's astonishing that you, a world leader who many respected for standing up to an illegal attack on your country, now support an illegal attack on another country. It completely kills your credibility. Right now. Iran is Ukraine. You may not like to hear that but that is a fact
Volodymyr Zelenskyy / Володимир Зеленський@ZelenskyyUa

It is unfortunate that the UN Security Council has once again failed to demonstrate effectiveness and act decisively in the face of such a global threat as the Iranian regime's blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. No one should be allowed to block such globally significant sea lanes or undermine the security of dozens of nations through terrorist attacks against the freedom of navigation. We faced a similar challenge in the Black Sea when the Russians attempted to block our ports and civilian shipping—Russia was trying to suffocate our economy. And we found a way to solve that problem through decisive action, not inaction. Now, we see a similar problem on a global scale. The Strait of Hormuz must remain open to all vessels that sustain vital economy lifelines and maintain normal international trade. Countries in the region have spoken clearly on this, and we support the aspirations of the people of the Middle East and the Gulf for peace. Peace and security in this region directly impact stability, market predictability, and the cost of living in every single country. Such problems and this war must not be prolonged. The world needs a functional UNSC that acts more decisively to resolve acute security challenges of global magnitude.

The President’s threat that “a whole civilization will die tonight” cannot be excused away as an attempt to gain leverage in negotiations with Iran. This type of rhetoric is an affront to the ideals our nation has sought to uphold and promote around the world for nearly 250 years. It undermines our long-standing role as a global beacon of freedom and directly endangers Americans both abroad and at home. The oppressive, terror-spreading regime of the Islamic Republic must be distinguished from the people and the civilization of Iran. Everyone involved—especially the President and Iran’s leaders—must de-escalate their unprecedented saber-rattling before it is too late.

Khanna on Hasan Piker: "What should the standard of the Democrats be? Should we not go on Joe Rogan? Should we just have purity tests of canceling folks? The lesson of the last election is we've gotta be out there. We've gotta engage. It's a complex, messy, multiracial democracy. I will defend my views, but the people who are saying 'don't engage' will cost us future elections."
